America’s Spiritual Decline

The spirit of Antichrist has been in the world at least since God said the seed of woman would bruise Satan’s head (Gen. 3:15). God’s curse was the beginning of a great earthly struggle between good and evil. In the beginning, it focused on preventing the first coming of Jesus. It is now focused on preventing the Second Coming of Jesus. It will continue until this world is destroyed by fire (Matt. 24:35; II Pet. 3:10).

The Antichrist won’t be revealed until the church is Raptured, but the spirit of Antichrist is already here (II Thess. 2:6, 7; I Jn. 4:3). It is anti-God, anti-Jesus, anti-Truth, anti-Christian, the Apostasy, the falling away, the departure from the faith, the emerging church, liberalism, humanism, globalism, inclusiveness, replacement theology, non-Christian religions and the like.

Among other things, this wicked spirit will lead to perilous times, blasphemy, fierceness and despising those that are good in the last days (II Tim. 3:1-4). It will make the world more dangerous (wars, nuclear weapons, more deadly pestilences etc.). Humanity will become more despicable (ungodly or contemptuous of God). People will become more brutal (behead people, burn people alive, cut babies in two); and society will become more intolerant of those who serve God at the end of the Church Age (persecution).

Instead of a worldwide revival with the church converting the world, the people on planet Earth will move farther away from Jesus until all that will live godly in Christ will suffer persecution (II Thess. 2:3; Rev. 3:16; II Tim. 3:12). Christians all over the Middle East are being persecuted right now and it is a growing problem in the U.S.

Jesus, the Disciples, Paul and many of the early Christians were persecuted. A pastor that I know recently preached on “Preparing for the Coming Persecution.” Rev. Franklin Graham recently said that he is concerned about “persecution in this country” [the U.S.]. He added that, “We’ve already seen many laws that have been passed that restrict our freedom as Christians. I believe it’s going to get worse.”

About two weeks ago there was testimony before a U.S. Senate subcommittee that the U.S. received about seven million immigrants in fiscal 2014. They came from many places, but most were Hispanics and some were Muslims.

God loves all of them. He wants all of them to know that Jesus died for everyone’s sins. He wants all of them to accept Jesus as their Savior and to go to heaven.

But it should be understood that seven million immigrants, plus the multiplied millions more that are expected to arrive in the next 3 to 4 years, are going to impact the already failing spirituality of the U.S.

No one can deny that there are places in the world where the church is growing, but the U.S. is not one of them. Many pastors say that they think the Apostasy has already started in the U.S. They see very little difference between most of their church members and the lost. Apathy and moral failure are already widespread in U.S. churches.

This is the point: The growing persecution and spiritual decline of America is bad enough already, but it is going to get much worse in the future. It is difficult to say how many Muslims are coming into the U.S. when people are saying the number is much higher than our government is letting on. And Pres. Obama has already said he will increase it even more. It is sad to know that Syrian Muslims are being brought in, but Syrian Christians are being refused entry. Bringing non-Christians in and keeping Christians out changes things.

Increasing the population of Muslims is going to mean more mosques; more demands to stop monitoring mosques, more demands to stop profiling Muslims; more demands to bring in extended families of Muslims; more demands for Muslim prayers before Congress, at city council meetings and the like.

It will mean more demands for Sharia Law: more attempts to get rid of the Bible, portray Christians as hate-mongers and extremists, send Christians to sensitivity training, get rid of chaplains in the military and the like; more demands to change school textbooks, lunch menus, etc. and perhaps more terrorist attacks, especially on churches.

Muslims are coming (and being brought) to the U.S. for many reasons, but the primary reason they are coming is to fundamentally transform the U.S. into a Muslim nation.

I have been to Mexico and seen many faithful Hispanic Christians. The vast majority is nominal at best. About 75-80%, say they are Catholic. They say they are Catholic because their parents were Catholic or they believe they were born Catholic. But their Catholic beliefs are far from traditional mainline Christianity. In many cases, their beliefs have been blended with ritualism, magic, voodoo, varied Indian cultural practices and the like.

Several years ago, a missionary took my wife and me to a Roman Catholic Church in Mexico and a voodoo ceremony was being performed in the church. I am not against legalized immigration (and I don’t blame anyone for seeking a better life), but I am saying that letting 25-30 million people with many kinds of strange beliefs come into the U.S. in the next 4 to 5 years (and not letting Christians in) will decrease the percentage of true Christians in the U.S.

Understand that the Bible is not wrong. Every jot and tittle will be fulfilled including what it says about persecution. Understand too, that what Islamic terrorists do in other countries (behead Christians, burn churches, burn people alive, cut babies in two, sell people into slavery) they will also do in the U.S. Their threats to raise the Islamic State flag over the White House and to blow up the White House should be taken seriously.

The spirit of Antichrist is already here and a flood of epic proportions is on the way. It will further weaken the U.S. spiritually and we should be concerned for our Lord, our children, our grandchildren, others and ourselves.

To preach the Word is to preach the Second Coming of Jesus!

If the man in the pulpit is God’s man, a preacher of the Word, his message will be well seasoned with the second coming of the Lord Jesus Christ. The hope of this age is the return of the Lord to catch away His Church. I declare unto you on the authority of the Word that a man who does not believe in the return of the Lord is not saved! No, I am not judging. I am simply inspecting fruit in the light of the Bible: “For by grace are you saved through faith” (Ephesians 2:8) “For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Savior Jesus Christ” (Titus 2:11-13)

We are saved by grace, we are taught by grace… taught to deny the world, taught to live righteous lives, taught to look for Jesus! Therefore I declare under you that the person who is not looking for Jesus does not possess the grace of God.

The hope of this age, the hope of mankind, is the coming of the Lord Jesus. We will never have peace; we will never have lasting world order until Jesus comes. Man has tried everything in his power to bring about peace and world success; but as I write these lines, the world is in terrible chaos. Why? Sin is the answer… and sin will never be put down to stay until the Lord Jesus comes.
“Preach the Word!” My prayer today is that the Lord will help me to remain true to His Word and preach it in all its fullness and power until Jesus comes. God forbid that I should ever compromise with the world and the devil in my preaching. I trust as I send out this message that if you dear reader, have not met the Lord in a born-again experience you will do so today. Do not gamble with “religion.” Religion is no good unless it is the blood bought religion of the Lord Jesus Christ.

If you have been attending a church where the pastor is a blood-denying preacher, then search the Scriptures and see if what I have told you in this message is not true. God has not changed His mind about sin. The wages of sin is death, as it always has been and always will be. The sins which damned men centuries ago will damn men today. Do not be led astray by every wind of doctrine, but stand for the blood-bought redemption of Calvary.  Stand by the Bible, live by the Bible, make sure you have had a born-again experience.

If you are not a Christian, I beg you to bow your head right now and let the Lord Jesus come into your heart. He is the way, the truth, and the life. There is no other way, no other door to heaven. “Neither is there salvation in any other; for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved” (Acts 4:12).

“If thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shall be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation” (Romans 10:9, 10).

“Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the Word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever” (1 Peter 1:23).

Claim this promise made by our Savior: “Verily, verily, I say unto you, he that heareth My Word, and believeth on Him that sent Me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation, but is passed from death unto life” (John 5:24).

Words of Grace for Strength

What more can be said? What more should be said? As we continue to post these excerpts from the writings of great Teachers and Preachers of the Word from the past, I am continually amazed at the relevance of their words today. Truly as the Word of God itself says “there is nothing new under the sun” (Ecclesiastes 1:9). Just as the Word of God is relevant for today, so is the understanding and teaching of the prophetic Word from these authors.

The amazing truth, so simple and yet so deeply profound is that a never-changing Word of God is always relevant, always as if freshly written, for an ever-changing world. These authors have grasped that truth, and held to it steady. And so, their words live for us today.

In these Last Days, we need to be continually reminded that our “blessed hope” is the return of Jesus Christ for the redeemed, His Church. Unfortunately, for many “religion” has taken the place of True Christianity. The “prosperity gospel” or the “self-help gospel” or the “papal gospel” or one of a myriad of other cultic systems of religiosity has replaced the Gospel of Jesus Christ. These false religions focus on worldly pursuits and personal satisfaction in this life and not the eternal rewards to be gained by living a life in Christ; seeking to come up with something new and exciting, while all the time ignoring the eternal truth as written in the Word of God.

We would do well to remember the words of the Apostle Paul in Philippians 1:21 “For to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain.” Simply put, while we remain on this earth our lives should serve Jesus Christ, and should we face death before Jesus raptures His Church, we get to go be with Him. As Jesus has won the victory over sin, we cannot lose as we stand by His side.

Just as Oliver B. Green has done in his writing; if you truly have a relationship with Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, we implore you to examine the “church” you attend to see if it is truly one which preaches and teaches the Gospel of Jesus Christ. And, if you have never accepted Christ’s free gift of salvation through His shed blood at Calvary, there has never been a better time than now to make Him Lord of your life.

If you need more information, or would like to talk to someone, about accepting Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, please send us a message by filling out the form on the “about us” page here on our blog site. And, if you’re looking for a church to attend in your area which is still teaching the True Gospel of Jesus Christ, we may be able to help with that as well. Please contact us through the form and we will make every effort to help you find a place to worship and grow in Christ Jesus. Because;

Living in the Last Days… His Remnant Church ~ Part 12

Over the past few weeks we have been studying what we believe to be the true church in the Last Days, His Remnant Church. We have identified followers of Christ who have a true biblical understanding of the church designed and built by Jesus Christ in the book of Acts. In fact, the distinctives of this remnant group of Christians, in contrast with the mainstream “church” in the world today, are so apparent that they invite derision, condemnation, and disdain not only from the world but the mainstream “churches” as well. During the study we have discussed the responsibilities of this remnant of believers, the true followers of Jesus Christ, and the mission of His Remnant Church as it relates to the Great Commission and Great Commandment in preparation for the return of our Lord and Savior.

During this study we also have examined the problems within the denominational, institutionalized, emergent, word of faith, prosperity, and other mainstream church organizations that dominate the world today. These groups have compromised by embracing one or more of the false theologies of materialism, socialism, humanism, elitism, dominionism, liberationism, or Supersessionism. These so-called “churches” no longer can claim the distinction of separation from the world because they have abandoned fidelity to the Word of God.

We acknowledge that within these “churches” there may remain a few who have not “soiled their garments” (Revelation 2 & 3), but maintain that the preponderance of evidence would show their leadership to be apostate and dominated by false prophets and false teachers. God will not bless error or false teaching. A “church” based on false doctrine is not a Biblical church and God cannot have any part in it. The Apostle Paul, in Galatians 1:8-9, twice says of anyone who would pervert the Gospel, “let him be accursed.” No man or “church” that claims to be a church of God, may change anything God has said for any reason, and God is not giving any new Revelation. The canon was closed with the Revelation of Jesus Christ given to the Apostle John. A biblical church is one wherein Christ is the Head, and it follows the Word of God. If a “church” does not follow the Bible, then it is not a church that belongs to God, because in refusing to obey the Scriptures they separate themselves from God. The unfortunate reality is that most often these so-called “churches” that dominate the world today, were not built on the foundation of Jesus Christ, but were established on the personalities and wills of men, and if they were established in Christ, they long ago abandoned this position.

Jesus Himself said that He would build His church in Matthew 16:18. What was the process in which He did so? He taught His disciples, and while at the time of their teaching they may not have fully understood it, He knew that in the power of the Holy Spirit they would understand and carry out His instructions. The New Testament record is clear that His disciples and apostles followed His instructions completely. Jesus Christ has not changed His instructions for His church. And, He did not leave the matter of establishing His church with human wisdom, He left His Word, and within it are complete instructions to deal with every aspect of establishing His church. His instruction and pattern for building it is the way He intended for it to continue, and any man, group, “church” or denomination who changes the pattern or establishes a “church” on any other foundation has simply not built a Biblical Church. When any “church” injects tradition or the opinions of men into doctrine established by Jesus Christ and His apostles, it is in grave error and is not building a true New Testament church. The Apostle Paul wrote, “For no other foundation can anyone lay than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ” 1 Corinthians 3:10-11. A “church” that is established and does not look like the church in Acts and does not follow the New Testament example, cannot have God’s approval, blessing or presence. This is why we have called for those who are truly following hard after Jesus Christ to understand that they are as a church, a remnant of True Christians, True Believers, True Followers and therefore are truly His Remnant Church of these Last Days.

In the coming weeks we will begin a study of the Church in Acts, the New Testament Church of Jesus Christ, from which we have inherited the call to accomplish the Great Commandment and Great Commission. We need a fresh understanding that the body of Christ today is truly descended from the Church in Acts, and should emulate it in faith, evangelism, discipleship and fellowship. Why? Because;
