What About Persecution?

Usually, for our Sunday article, it is my practice to quote a passage from a message or book written within the past 100 years or so, and then to make commentary as to its relevance for today. Today however, it is the constant reminder, by way of the media, of stories dealing with Christian persecution which has caused me to write. Because of much unbiblical teaching, emanating from many pulpits, in “churches” which have compromised on the Word of God and are now preaching “another gospel” I felt it necessary to put forward this brief excursus on persecution.

Words of Grace for Strength

From the very beginning, the true Church of Jesus Christ has faced persecution. Acts chapters 4 and 5 speak of the very beginning of that persecution in the ministry of the apostles Peter and John, and we find at the end of chapter 5 these words:

Acts 5:34-35
Then one in the council stood up, a Pharisee named Gamaliel, a teacher of the law held in respect by all the people, and commanded them to put the apostles outside for a little while. And he said to them: “Men of Israel, take heed to yourselves what you intend to do regarding these men.

Act 5:38-42
And now I say to you, keep away from these men and let them alone; for if this plan or this work is of men, it will come to nothing; but if it is of God, you cannot overthrow it—lest you even be found to fight against God.” And they agreed with him, and when they had called for the apostles and beaten them, they commanded that they should not speak in the name of Jesus, and let them go.

So they departed from the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer shame for His name. And daily in the temple, and in every house, they did not cease teaching and preaching Jesus as the Christ.

It is estimated that between 100 million and 150 million Christians worldwide face some type of persecution on a yearly basis, and depending upon whose report you believe to be most accurate there are between 55,000 and 100,000 Christians martyred each year. Some have even estimated that more Christians have been martyred in the first 15 years of this century than all of the previous 20 combined.

Christian persecution is found on every continent, and in every country, and is perpetrated by many religions as well as atheistic and intolerant totalitarian governments. In some places the persecution is subtle while in others it is horrifically overt. Christian persecution is found in many forms; such as slander and libel, confiscation of property, false accusations, imprisonment, kidnapping, slavery, beatings, dismemberment, torture, rape, and in varying degrees of severity up to and including murder by means of shooting, stoning, and beheading, burning, and even crucifixion.

Beginning with John and Peter’s first persecution, and with Steven’s death as the church’s first martyr, the church age has been marked by suffering, persecution, and martyrdom of the followers of Jesus Christ. All of the apostles, with the exception of John, were martyred as were most of the New Testament disciples named in the books written by Luke, Peter, John, and Paul.

Throughout the successive centuries the persecution has only grown, and as we live in these last days, awaiting the return of Jesus Christ to Rapture His Church, we can expect its intensity and frequency to grow exponentially. Jesus Christ was Himself our suffering Savior, and He was persecuted even unto death. We who are His followers, should at no time be surprised when we too are persecuted. Jesus promised us; “Remember the word that I said to you, ‘A servant is not greater than his master.’ If they persecuted Me, they will also persecute you.” John 15:20a

Looking back to our text in Acts 5, we find that those who are persecuting the apostles are the Sanhedrin. Later in the book of Acts we find the followers of Christ being persecuted by differing groups of Gentiles and most especially the Romans. Throughout the succeeding centuries Christians have faced persecution from many different religions, ideologies, and governments.

Today Christian persecution comes at the hands of Islamists and various other religions; from communists, socialists, progressives, and other political ideologies; from atheists and agnostics; and from the radical LGBT community as well as other social activists such as the Southern Poverty Law Center and the ACLU. In fact, I’m certain many of you would agree with me when I say, active Christian persecution emanates from our own White House and the administration which now occupies it.

But, I believe we who are followers of Christ, His True Church, have actually forgotten who our enemy really is. In John 14:30 he is called “the ruler of this world,” in Ephesians 2:2 he is called “the prince of the power the air,” and Paul names him as the devil in Ephesians 6:11. In fact, in Ephesians 6:11-12 Paul warns us to; “Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.” Whether it be religions, governments, or ideologies, these and the mere mortals who lead them, are no more than pawns in this great spiritual war.

Today the True Church of Jesus Christ, the Bride of Christ, is involved in this spiritual war for the universe. Satan’s goal is to corrupt, marginalize, render ineffective, and destroy the Church of Jesus Christ. It is also his goal to destroy God’s chosen people, the Jews and their nation of Israel. Ultimately, Christ Himself will win the war. But, until we are relieved of our duty by either death (which the apostle Paul calls “gain.” Philippians1:21) or Rapture (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17), we are to equip ourselves with the whole armor of God (Ephesians 6:10-18) and make a stand for the cause of Christ.

Once again as we look back to Acts 5:41, we note that John and Peter rejoiced that they were found worthy to suffer for Christ. Peter tells us in 1 Peter 3:14 that if we suffer for righteousness sake we are blessed. And James writes in James 1:2 that we should count it all joy when we face trials. Contrary to what is taught in many “churches” today, this is the normal Christian life, to be continually facing persecution for our obedience and fidelity to the cause of Christ. Like so many saints before us, who had also counted the cost, we must be willing not only to suffer, but to lay down our life in the service of the cross.

There is an old gospel song titled “I came here to stay.” I don’t know who the author is, but I believe this song should be on the lips of every Christian as we are involved in this spiritual battle. The chorus of the song says;

Run if you want to, run if you will,
But I came here to stay.
If I fall down I’m gonna get right up.
Because I didn’t start out to play.
It’s a battlefield, brother,
not a recreation room.
It’s a fight, and not a game.
Run if you want to, run if you will,
but I came here to stay.

Know your enemy, know the battlefield, face persecution without fear, rejoice, and having done all to stand, stand therefore!

Whatever Happened to John 3:16?

Quite literally, every day we learn of another example of man’s inhumanity to man. News organizations, both traditional and Internet-based, daily report on the atrocities and unspeakable evil which permeates, affects, touches, or in some way influences the lives of nearly every person on planet Earth. We are being constantly made aware of new and terrible diseases, or the resurgence or mutations of age-old maladies which are increasingly affecting numbers of peoples all over the world. And, weather events and natural disasters continue to increase in severity and frequency.

However, those of us who consider ourselves to be a part of the True Church, the Body of Christ, point to prophetic Scripture and declare that the Bible says these things are to be so as we approach the end of days. We of course do so by sharing these things from our pulpits, or in our weekly Bible studies, or through books we write, or (more and more frequently) through blogs posted on our own websites and those of others.

News organizations detail the latest atrocities committed by ISIS in Iraq, Syria, Jordan, and the rest of the Middle East; Boko Haram in Africa, Russian separatists in Ukraine, the Iranian proxies (Hamas in Gaza and Hezbollah in Syria and Lebanon), Al Qaeda in Yemen and Libya, the PLO in Israel, the Taliban in Afghanistan, Muslim extremists in Europe, and rising anti-Semitism worldwide. We hear about Chinese belligerence in the Far East, the nuclear aspirations of Iran, North Korea, and India, and increasingly, the failure of the United States to articulate any real understanding of, or implementation of, foreign policy.

In the US domestic news, we also read and see evidence of the growing influence of Islam, the continued proliferation of secular humanism in our institutions of learning, the insidious and intolerant assaults on Christianity and traditional family values by progressives (formerly known as liberals), and the militant minority LGBT community.

Lately, as I follow these news sources and then read the blog articles and comments of those in the Christian community, I have begun to see what I consider to be a disturbing trend. Many, though certainly not all, of these comments, articles, and posts focus on the condemnation of the individuals, groups, or countries committing these egregious acts without commenting on, or attributing, the ultimate reason for these evils to the very fact that we are living in a world which is ruled by the prince of the power of the air, and the rulers of darkness of this world, which is of course, Satan and his demons.

In fact, many in the Christian community have become so intentional in their desire to “expose” the hatred and evil inherent among those who are doing Satan’s bidding in these days, that they have forgotten not only the Great Commandment (Matthew 22:36-40) and Great Commission (Mark 16:15), but in fact, the words of John 3:16. Even while acknowledging that we are living in the Last Days, that the Rapture of the church is imminent, and that a time of great Tribulation is approaching mankind, which will culminate in Christ’s physical return to the earth in power and great glory, we are failing to do the work which we were first called to do; proclaim the Good News of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” John 3:16 (NKJV)

Remember this verse? It is one of the best-known verses in the Bible. In fact, for most of us it is the very first verse we ever committed to memory. John 3:16 clearly and simply declares the Good News of the Gospel.

Let’s break this verse down a bit, “For God so loved the world” tells us that the creator of the universe loves His creation. However, the “world” here is not descriptive of the cosmos, or even the earth itself, but of all mankind. So the Scripture is saying that God loves all men, even those who scorn or reject His love. When I read “God so loved the world,” I can individualize that to say that He loves me. Yet, the same can be said by every other individual on the earth. This then means that the whole love of God is available to every single soul who has ever lived. Understanding that, the blessed truth here is this; no matter how far one distances himself from God, no matter how little one thinks of God, or no matter that one never even shows any love for God, it makes absolutely no difference to the very fact that God loves them.

Let’s continue, “that He gave His only begotten Son” is describing the fact that Jesus Christ became the sacrifice required by a Holy God to pay the sin debt of the entire world (read mankind). We must understand here that it was not Jesus’s death that turned God’s wrath and anger away from man, but rather it was God’s love for man which appointed Jesus Christ’s death. This then demonstrates that God loved men before He sent Christ to pay their sin debt. (2 Corinthians 5:14-21; Hebrews 2:9; 1 John 2:2)

This brings us to the last part of the verse, “that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” Now then, “whoever” means whoever. There is nothing complicated here, there is no mystery here, any and every man who believes that Jesus Christ paid his sin debt can have eternal life.

Believing in Christ means that we acknowledge that He alone could be the perfect sacrifice which a Holy God required. It is acknowledging Him as our Savior, and surrendering to Him authority in our lives as our Lord. It is the act of acknowledging His will as our own as we become His disciples.

God hates sin, and God certainly does not like the wicked state of the world in which we live. But God loves men, and Peter tells us that He is not willing that any should perish. (2 Peter 3:9)

So, the purpose of my article is this:

We who are disciples of Jesus Christ, who make up the Body of the True Church, which is the Bride of Christ, need to examine our attitudes as they relate to men and sin. When we stand in our pulpits, or sit before our computers we need to remember that Jesus Christ came to save sinners, and that but for the grace of God, we ourselves could still be in need of redemption. We need to humble ourselves as did the Apostle Paul when he wrote; “This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am chief” (1 Timothy 1:15).

Jesus Christ came to save sinners, mankind; no matter what their nationality, no matter what their race, no matter what their religion, no matter what their sexual orientation, no matter what political office they may hold, no matter whether they are rich or poor, no matter what the circumstances of their life are, Jesus Christ paid their sin debt and we have the responsibility to share that Good News with them. No matter what the cost may be.

Reread the Book of Acts, up until his conversion on the road to Damascus in chapter 9, the church considered Paul (Saul of Tarsus) a terrorist. Yet, look at what Christ did with his life. Take a hard look at your life and examine what you might have become had it not been for Christ’s intervention and your salvation. Think about what Christ could do with the life of a world leader or even a would-be terrorist who found redemption in Him today.

Please understand this, I am not asking that we cease our efforts as “watchmen on the wall” or that we quit proclaiming the imminence of Christ’s return for His Church. I am not even suggesting we quit commenting on current events and their relationship to the end times.

What I am asking is that we refocus on that which is the most important task we have been given, to share the Good News of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Share it in every message you preach, every study you lead, and every article you write. Is it not truly what we have all been called to do? Is it not really the reason we have become watchmen?

Yes, Jesus is coming soon, and we need to share the Good News so that many more will be ready for His coming.

Goodbye Lady Liberty

Following his famous sermon on Pentecost, the church “continued stedfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship and in breaking of bread, and in prayers” (Acts 2:42). And it wasn’t long until Peter preached another famous sermon (Acts 3:12-26). He addressed the men of Israel and eventually said, “Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord; And he shall send Jesus Christ, which before was preached unto you: Whom the heaven must receive until the times of restitution of all things, which God hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began” (Acts 3:19-21). These are tough words, but I believe Peter told these Jews that God will send a time of refreshing to Israel, then God will send Jesus back, and then Jesus will begin the time of restoration (restore Israel’s position among the nations; restore morality, peace, justice, righteousness, etc. on earth). It intrigues me that God in His foreknowledge knows when the times of refreshing and time of restitution are.

But consider that God gave all of the Promised Land to Abraham and His descendents (the Jews); that God told Abraham that His descendants would live in another land and serve them (live in Egypt and be slaves there) for 400 years; and the reason why they couldn’t have the Promised Land right away was because the iniquity of the Amorites who lived in the Promised Land was not yet full (Gen. 15:12-16). God loves everyone, including the Amorites, so He would not allow the Jews to occupy the Promised Land for another 400 years because the sin of the Amorites was not yet great enough for them to be destroyed. But when the 400 years came and went and the Amorites had reached God’s limit on defiling the land, He would cast them out (Lev. 18:24-28; I Kings 21:25-26).

And consider that God told Judah that He had called upon the people to repent many times, but they did not listen so He was going to use Babylon to destroy Judah, capture many Jews in the north part of the country and make them serve Babylon for 70 years (Jer. 25:1-11). Then, He added that because of Babylon’s sin He would destroy Babylon 70 years later (Jer. 25:12). Before it happened God revealed Judah’s fall and the time of Babylon’s fall (70 years after Judah’s fall). But it did not stop there. God identified several other nations that would drink the “wine cup of this fury” (be destroyed) at that time (Jer. 25:15-26).

Among other things, a cup is a unit of measurement. David’s cup was filled with joy (Psa. 23:5). The believer’s cup is filled with salvation (Psa. 116:13; Jn. 7:37-39). Jesus’ cup was filled with the wrath of God toward the sins of the world (Matt. 26:39). The coming one-world religion’s cup will be filled with abominations and filthiness (Rev. 17:4).

The “wine cup of this fury” contained the wrath of God toward the sins of those nations. Instead of pouring His wrath upon these nations as they sinned, God poured His wrath into a cup. As time passed, the level of His wrath in the cup slowly rose until the “wine cup of this fury” was full. God didn’t punish them every time they sinned, but He was aware of their sins. And their sins caused His wrath to build until His cup was full and He destroyed them.

This process is ongoing, but it can be interrupted and God’s wrath can even be removed from the “cup” by humility, prayer and turning to Him (II Chron. 7:14). Absent that, and I don’t believe it is going to happen in the United States, the cup that contains America’s sins will continue to fill until there is no more room. Then, the Bible teaches that God will remove a leader (Dan. 2:21), or He will destroy a nation (Dan. 5:25-28), or He will give a nation the basest of men (a terrible leader) to rule over it (Dan. 4:17).

God does not change (Heb. 13:8) and it seems that the United States now has the basest of men for a leader (lying, spying, breaking the law, abortion, homosexuality, etc.). This is a clear indication that the cup of God’s wrath is full. It explains why our President’s lying staff, our cover-it-up Senate, our really angry (but never do anything about it) House and the predominantly silent Main Stream Media are allowing the destruction of America’s Biblical foundations. Goodbye Lady Liberty. Your “cup” is full and it grieves some of us to ponder your future.

If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do (Psa. 11:3)? See Psa. 11:4-7. What will happen to the wicked (verse 6)? Drink from the cup of salvation before it is too late.

A Lawless President and His Corrupt Administration, the Destruction of the USA

Ignoring our Constitution and our Nation’s Laws, Barack Obama and his Administration have:

  • Dismantled, denigrated and marginalized our military, dishonored and ignored our veterans even to the point that hundreds, and perhaps even thousands, have died because of a denial of healthcare.
  • Tripled the national debt, destroyed our economy, impoverished the middle class, and caused an effective unemployment rate between 20% and 25%, to the point that nearly 50% of the population is now dependent on food stamps.
  • Accelerated the destruction of the family unit and the moral collapse of our society by embracing same-sex marriage, and advancing the agenda and cause of the fascist LGBT movement and their attacks on Biblical Christianity.
  • Whether through willful ignorance or calculated planning his foreign policies have destroyed the standing of the United States in the world community weakening our ability to influence policy, emboldening our enemies, abandoning our friends, and endangering the lives of US citizens on every continent.
  • Ignoring the constitutional rights of the citizens of the US, he and his administration have through the NSA, FBI, IRS, BLM, Treasury Department, Department of Justice and perhaps other agencies; illegally spied on US citizens; illegally targeted, prosecuted and persecuted US citizens on the basis of their political and/or religious convictions and affiliations; illegally confiscated, impounded, seized, and outright stolen personal property, real estate holdings and lands, and the financial assets of US citizens.
  • He and members of his administration have openly lied unapologetically to the citizens of the United States and our elected representatives in the United States Congress and Senate. And, they continue to cover up and withhold information of their actions and activities from the courts and Congress tasked with investigating them under the laws of our Constitution. Withholding information and evidence that the citizens of the United States have the right to hear and see which could very well exonerate them but more likely will expose what may very well turn out to be felonious if not treasonous acts against the United States of America and its citizens.

It is my opinion that Barack Obama, Chuck Hagel, John Kerry, Susan Rice and anyone else in this administration who participated in, negotiated for, or had prior knowledge of the release of the five members of the Taliban released from the prison at Guantanamo Bay are guilty of having given aid and comfort to our enemies, endangered our national security, our military and our citizens everywhere in the world, even within our own domestic borders, and should be arrested and tried for treason. The release and repatriation of Bowe Bergdahl notwithstanding.

I do not believe that Barack Obama is a True Christian. I say this based on the lack of spiritual evidence in his life and his actions against Scriptural Christianity. While I could probably write in excess of 10,000 words explaining why I believe the way I do in regard to his relationship or lack thereof with Jesus Christ, I will simply give one example which in and of itself is enough proof. In an interview in 2004 with Chicago Sun-Times columnist Cathleen Falsani, much was revealed about Barack Obama’s understanding of “Christianity” and whether or not he was a “Christian.” While I find many things Obama expressed in this interview can be used as evidence against his truly being born again, I believe that this one thing in particular is undeniable proof.

Falsani’s first question to Obama was; “What do you believe”?

Approximately midway through his response to this question Barack Obama said; “So, I’m rooted in the Christian tradition. I believe that there are many paths to the same place, and that is a belief that there is a higher power, a belief that we are connected as a people. That there are values that transcend race or culture, that move us forward, and there’s an obligation for all of us individually as well as collectively to take responsibility to make those values lived.”

Falsani’s eleventh question to Obama was; “Who’s Jesus to you”?

And Obama replies; “Right. Jesus is an historical figure for me, and he’s also a bridge between God and man, in the Christian faith, and one that I think is powerful precisely because he serves as that means of us reaching something higher. And he’s also a wonderful teacher. I think it’s important for all of us, of whatever faith, to have teachers in the flesh and also teachers in history.”

Look with me now at what the Bible records in the gospel of Matthew.

“When Jesus came into the region of Caesarea Philippi, He asked His disciples, saying, “Who do men say that I, the Son of Man, am?” So they said, “Some say John the Baptist, some Elijah, and others Jeremiah or one of the prophets.” He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?” Simon Peter answered and said, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” Jesus answered and said to him, “Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My Father who is in heaven.” Mathew 16:13-17

While Obama says that Jesus is a “bridge” and a “wonderful teacher” he does not acknowledge Him as the Christ, his Lord and Savior, or the Son of God. Let’s look now at what the apostle John records in his Gospel, which are the very words of Jesus Christ Himself.

“Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also. And where I go you know, and the way you know.” Thomas said to Him, “Lord, we do not know where You are going, and how can we know the way?” Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. “If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also; and from now on you know Him and have seen Him.” John 14:1-7

We see here in this definitive declaration of Jesus Christ, that He is “the way, the truth, and the life.” And, that “No one comes to the Father except through Me.” Yet, Barack Obama in his testimony said; “I believe that there are many paths to the same place, and that is a belief that there is a higher power, a belief that we are connected as a people.” Obama’s statement is a direct contradiction to the words of Jesus Christ, who Scripture declares is the Son of God. Obama’s words and actions from the time of that interview to this present day demonstrates that what he calls “Christianity” is in direct opposition to what the Bible says is True Christianity, and therefore a true relationship with Jesus Christ and the one True God of the Bible.

Having established this, in light of the lawlessness I have written about above, which I believe connects this president with the one the Scripture describes in Ephesians as “the prince of the power the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience” and “the rulers of the darkness of this age” most commonly known in this day and age as the devil or Satan. Because of my intensive study and understanding of Biblical Eschatology; I believe Barack Obama is accomplishing the will of God in these Last Days.

What? You ask!

The United States of America is nowhere to be found in Biblical Prophecy. Therefore, I believe that it is within God’s eternal plan, that this nation has to become impotent and irrelevant as a player on the world stage, and I believe that this president and this present administration are helping to accomplish that. I am saddened at this prospect as an American Patriot, but as a Blood Bought, Born Again, Believer in Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior I am thrilled with the prospect that this is evidence of His imminent return for His Body of Believers which as True Christians make up His True Church. Until the day we hear “a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God” (1 Thessalonians 4:16), we need to be accomplishing the “Great Commission” (Matthew 28:16-20) in the understanding of the “Great Commandments” (Matthew 22:36-40).

As lawless as this president is, as well as the many members of his administration, and in fact our entire Congress; it is our responsibility to pray for each of them to have a life-changing encounter with the Son of God who paid the debt for their sin, the same as He did ours, at Calvary. Because of the hour in which we live as the world quickly approaches the midnight of God’s judgment, we need to be sharing the good news of the Gospel of Jesus Christ with every member of our families, our friends, our acquaintances, and especially those who will persecute us or treat us evilly. The Rapture is imminent and God’s certain judgment on the world will quickly follow in preparation of the bodily return of Jesus Christ to set up His earthly Kingdom and Millennial Reign.

Jesus is Coming Soon!

NOTE: Following are links to two articles which I believe would be valuable for anyone following our blog to read which describe the lawlessness of this administration. The first is by Col. Oliver North and the second by David Barton, both True Christians. The third link is to the interview of Barack Obama by Cathleen Falsani.

Silence In The Church

The Bible teaches that there will be a one-world government during the Tribulation Period (Dan. 7:23; Rev. 13:7). It will be led by a blaspheming Satan worshiper that many call the Antichrist (Rev. 13:5-6). His reign will be marked by war and multitudes will perish (Rev. 6:2, 8). The unbelievers who follow him will be caught up in idolatry, murder, sorcery, sexual immorality and theft (Rev. 9:20-21). Those who become believers during the Tribulation Period, including many women and children, will be subjected to the most intense persecution the world has ever known (Rev. 13:16-17).

I know the Word of God must be fulfilled, but it seems to me that a Holy Spirit indwelt church should try to restrain this approaching evil. It seems to me that the church should warn people loud and clear about the dangers of Globalism and its much-desired world government. If Christians are the light of the world, why don’t we shed light on the darkness that is descending upon the earth (Matt. 5:14; Zeph. 1:15-17; I Thess. 5:5)? I know that there are many Spirit-filled light-shedding preachers doing that, but the silence of most of the church is very troubling.

In a recent article, I wrote about Pres. Obama’s desire to fast track a new trade agreement (treaty) with the Pacific-Rim nations called the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP). This treaty would surrender the sovereignty of the United States, subordinate the United States Constitution to other documents, integrate the politics and economies of about a dozen nations, create a trading block of nations patterned after the EU, fast track the North American Union and be a major step toward world government. I mentioned that Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid was blocking a vote on the treaty at the request of union leaders who believe the TPP will cause their members to lose jobs to other countries.

Just recently, I read that Hollywood and the Gay Lobby are expressing strong opposition to this treaty. As I understand it, their concern is not the loss of American sovereignty, the destruction of the U.S. Constitution, Satan worship, persecution of believers or anything like that. Their concern is that the list of participants in the TPP includes the tiny nation of Brunei and the fact that the sultan (he is also the Prime Minister) of Brunei recently announced the implementation of Sharia Law.

You see, Sharia Law is anti-abortion, anti-gay rights, anti-women’s rights, etc. Adulterers, rapists and sodomites (homosexuals and lesbians) can be stoned to death. Women who get an abortion can be flogged and women who get pregnant outside of marriage can be jailed. Some can even be beheaded.

I can understand the outcry of union leaders about the TPP because they are rightly concerned about the loss of jobs. I can understand the frantic protestations of Hollywood and the Gay Lobby about the TPP because they are rightly concerned about being flogged, stoned, jailed or beheaded. But I can’t understand the lack of concern in the church. A government worse than Hitler’s is rising, some of the unchurched are complaining, but most of the organized church is totally silent.

Oh, I know some will say the organized church doesn’t know about the TPP because NBC, CBS, PBS and others are not reporting it. True! But since the union leaders, Hollywood and the Gay Lobby knows about the TPP, wouldn’t you think someone in the organized church would know about it? Shouldn’t the organized church oppose the TPP because it will lead to a satanic world government? Shouldn’t the organized church oppose the TPP because it includes a nation that has implemented Sharia Law and that allows for the persecution of Christians, the abuse of women, the kidnapping of children, the destruction of Bibles, anti-Semitism and more?

Could it be that the organized church has been taken over in part by highly educated people with much learning and little knowledge of spiritual matters? Could it be that even though the Holy Spirit revealed this coming wicked world government (Dan. 7:23; Rev. 13:7) these highly educated leaders don’t even know what the Bible says on the subject? Could it be that many of them have made themselves willingly ignorant of some things in the Bible and they are not being led by the Holy Spirit (Rom. 8:9)? Could it be that their silence means they are unknowingly aligned with the future goals of the Antichrist? Whatever it is, concerning the TPP, I have found myself aligned with Harry Reid, the labor union leaders, Hollywood and the Gay Lobby. That is a scary thought to me and I sure wish some of the leaders in the organized church would speak up.

A Clear and Present Danger

On April 3, 2014, Brendan Eich resigned his position as CEO of Mozilla Corporation because a group of intolerant gays was complaining about a $1,000 donation he made in support of a 2008 proposition to ban gay marriage in California. The proposition passed with 52% of the vote and it was in line with the views expressed by Barack Obama, Joseph Biden and Hillary Clinton at that time. The proposition was also in line with the laws of the thirteen original states of the U.S., the long-held views of the vast majority of U.S. citizens, and more importantly, what the Bible teaches on the issue (Lev. 18:21-22; 20:13). It was an effort to stick to America’s roots, to restore Bible morality, and to avoid the eventual judgment of God on our nation.

The problem in Sodom was due more to the widespread acceptance of homosexuality than it was to the existence of homosexuality. The Bible says, “the men of the city, even the men of Sodom, compassed the house round, both old and young, all the people from every quarter: And they called unto Lot, and said unto him, Where are the men which came in to thee this night? bring them out unto us, that we may know them” (Gen. 19:4-5). The old, the young and all the people from every quarter clearly approved of the homosexual lifestyle. Pres. Obama is like this, He is obsessed with the idea of spreading homosexuality all over the world even to the point of using our diplomats to do it.

Unfortunately, Pres. Obama’s pushing of homosexuality and the widespread acceptance of it is just one symptom of America’s rejection of the Word of God. Since the Roe vs. Wade ruling in 1973, U.S. doctors have killed about 55 million unwanted babies. These innocent and defenseless babies have been denied life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Their tiny bodies have been thrown in the garbage and tossed out or incinerated with the clinical trash. In the U.S., Planned Parenthood doctors by themselves killed more than 300,000 babies in 2013 and Pres. Obama stood before the group and said, “God bless you” (Ex. 20:13; 21:22-25; Prov. 6:16-17; Jer. 32:35).

Gambling is condemned in the Bible under the subjects of covetousness, greed, materialism and the love of money (Ex. 20:17; Prov. 15:27; Eph. 4:19; I Tim. 6:10). It was once considered foolishness, preying on the poor, a rip off; and a criminal activity associated with prostitution, political corruption and the mafia. But America has rejected these Bible-based teachings. Some even estimate that as much as one-third of our money flows through the gambling industry. Sadly, large segments of this once sinful, illegal activity are being run as lotteries by state governments that say they need the revenue.

Drug abuse is listed as one of six major sins that will be prominent during the Tribulation Period (Rev. 9:20-21). Those who use drugs will refuse to repent and they will ultimately wind up in the Lake of Fire. Cocaine use has already become a national tragedy. The Federal Government has not legalized marijuana use, but two states, Colorado and Washington, have legalized it for recreational purposes; about a dozen other states are discussing legalizing it for recreational purposes; many more states have legalized it for medicinal use; Pres. Obama has admitted that he used it; he has made light of it by comparing it to taking a drink of alcohol; Attorney Gen. Holder has decided not to use federal laws to prosecute it in Colorado and Washington, and he has come out in favor of lighter prison sentences for non-violent drug dealers. This is another case of the U.S. ignoring what the Bible says and the lives of multitudes are being ruined (many for eternity).

Political corruption is a disgrace to any nation (Prov. 14:34; 29:2) and the acceptance of it is a sure sign that the people have no regard for the Commandments of God (Ex. 20:1-17). A usurper who uses aliases, a stolen Social Security number, a forged birth certificate, a forged Selective Service card; who hid his school records and his travel records; who habitually lies, deceives, and promotes abominations to God sits in the White House with the approval of a major political party, most of the mainstream media and many church goers. His unrighteousness and the widespread acceptance of sin is a clear indication of the spiritual darkness that now hovers over America.

Anti-Semitism is one of our greatest sins and the fact that it is rampant in the church makes it even worse. God has placed Scriptures, seminaries and true believers all over the U.S. and there is no excuse for hatred of the Jews in the church. It is not that the church doesn’t have the will of God. It is that so many church members have chosen to be willingly ignorant, reject or ignore what it says. Many blindly place denominational doctrine before the Word of God. It is clear that God made an everlasting covenant to give all the land of Canaan to Israel for an everlasting possession (Gen. 17:7-8); that the gifts and calling of God are without repentance (Rom. 11:29); that God has not cast away Israel (Rom. 11:1-2); that all Israel will be saved (Rom. 11:26-28); that the Jews are God’s people even in the latter days and latter years (Ezek. 38:8, 16); that the Jews will still be God’s people when the Battle of Armageddon takes place (Joel 3:2); that Israel will be under the New Covenant (Jer. 31:31-37; Heb. 8:8) and more; and yet, many in the church choose to ignore what the Bible says and their hatred of Israel is causing them to lead the vast majority of humanity astray. They have the will of God (John 3:19), but they prefer to replace it with their own false doctrine and thereby they are without excuse.

I don’t know where it is, but God has a red line and the ink won’t disappear unless there is repentance in the church.
