The Coming Storm

We have previously noted that in our minds, the late Reverend David Wilkerson was a prophetic voice for America during his lifetime. While some have criticized some of his dire predictions for America, it seems now that while the timing of his predictions may have been a little off, most are coming, or have come to fruition. Our excerpts today are from his message “The Calm Before the Storm” delivered at the Times Square Church on April 4, 1997. We have excerpted a few important paragraphs for their relevance to America today.

Over the years, I have received letters from people saying, “You’ve been prophesying for years about ‘gathering storm clouds’ and a ‘coming crash.’ Yet all you’ve done is scare a lot of Christians who trust your word. The truth is, the opposite has happened. Instead of experiencing a storm, we’ve seen a boom, with record-breaking prosperity. There isn’t one sign on the horizon to suggest a coming crisis.”
The fact is, the apostle Peter warned that many believers would react this way: “…there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, and saying, ‘Where is the promise of his coming? For since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of creation” (2 Peter 3:3). In other words: “People will say, ‘Where’s the so-called storm? Everything is continuing today as it always has!”

Beloved, God has judged every past society for lesser sins than America’s. Consider: No other nation has killed more babies than the United States has through abortion. Our soil cries out with the blood of these children! We’d rather save the life of a whale than one of our own babies. America has the world’s highest rate of illegitimate pregnancies.

We have begun to glorify homosexuality and lesbianism. Our media applauds the “bravery” of gays who declare their sexual orientation – but we ought to weep over it! At one time, Christians across the country would have been on their faces crying out to God for mercy over such immorality. Radical homosexuals cry out to society, “In your face!” Yet what they’re really saying is, “In your face, God!”

America has brazenly kicked God out of its schools and courts. Now there’s even a movement to remove His name from the Pledge of Allegiance and from all U.S. coins. People no longer want to hear even the mention of His name! Fifty million Americans now smoke pot, and millions more are hooked on heroin, crack and other hard drugs. Our schools have become bastions of blasphemy and agnosticism. Our children have been robbed of all moral standards, denied all access to God – and they’re reacting by becoming more violent and rebellious. Beloved, God destroyed Noah’s generation, as well as Sodom, all for lesser sins than ours. What arrogance to think that while these societies were judged severely, we might be spared!

Very Soon, America Is Going To Wake Up to a Sudden News Report of Calamity – and the Storm Will Be Upon Us Suddenly!

The psalmist describes how God’s rod of judgment will fall overnight: “In the hand of the Lord there is a cup, and the wine is red; it is full of mixture; and he poureth out of the same: but the dregs thereof, all the wicked of the earth shall wring them out, and drink them…all the horns of the wicked also will I cut off…” (Psalm 75:8, 10).

In Revelation, this cup is called “…the cup of his indignation…” (Revelation 14:10). In other words, it’s full of God’s wrath. Simply put, America’s cup of iniquity is overflowing – and all of our sins are going to turn into his holy wrath!

And, beloved, so it will be suddenly when the storm hits. It will come like a thief in the night, bringing sudden panic and disbelief. Right now you may be thinking, “Let it come! If calamity strikes, I’ll deal with it then. After all, I’m in God’s hands. I’ll be ready – so I’m not going to worry about it. Jesus will see me through.”

Yet, let me ask you: Why does God tell his prophets to shout their warnings from the housetops? He wants to warn his people – to stir us up to seek him! He wants to convict us of all our attempts to cast off Christ’s yoke and cozy up to the world. He wants us to keep our eyes on Jesus – to seek heavenly things – because those are the only things that will stand in the coming storm!

The Only Hope in the Coming Storm!

Just before his death and resurrection, Jesus stared into the face of a horrible coming storm. David gives us a clear picture of Jesus’ attitude in the face of the coming storm. He speaks prophetically of Christ, saying, “…I foresaw the Lord always before my face, for he is on my right hand, that I should not be moved” (Acts 2:25). The literal meaning here is, “I was always in his presence, beholding his face.” David quoted Jesus as saying, “Therefore did my heart rejoice, and my tongue was glad; moreover also my flesh shall rest in hope” (verse 26).

Here is the secret: Jesus kept the father always before his face! Jesus continually sought out secret places to be shut in with his father. And it was only after being in God’s presence that Christ came forth to minister, fully persuaded that his father was always with him: “He’s at my right hand – and nothing on this earth can move me!” The Greek word for “moved” here means “agitated or shaken, disturbed.”

Beloved, if we’re going to face the coming storm, then we need to be prepared so nothing disturbs our spirit. And the only way to do that is to spend time in the father’s presence, beholding his face. We have to be shut in with him – on our knees – until we’re thoroughly persuaded he’s at our right hand!

Words of Grace for Strength

Friends, it is past time for True Christians and the True Church in America, to make a stand for Jesus Christ and the one True God (John 14:6). The Storm David Wilkerson warned of is rapidly approaching.

We are almost daily seeing evidence of the growing persecution of Christians in this country. It is happening in our Military, schools, businesses, and government. Radical groups driven by satanic influence and ideologies, religious and cultural, conspire to marginalize Christians and Christian principles at every opportunity. We as followers of Christ need to join our voices with those of outspoken Christians like Benjamin Watson, Todd Starnes, and the Reverend Franklin Graham who are unapologetic in their stand for Christians and Christianity.

Most “churches” in America have become institutionalized, seeker friendly, prosperity driven, or denominationally apostate and marked by tolerance, compromise, and inclusiveness. The “mainstream” churches do not preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ, instead their message is filled with Political Correctness, Social Justice and Secular Humanism. Those of us who are a part of the True Church, the Bride of Christ, the Body of Christ, must lift our voices before the Lord in rejection of the false teachers and false religiosity of these “mainstream” churches and their false gospels.

The US is in decline and standing in a place of judgment before God. Our national government is corrupt and led by the most godless administration in our history. Our nation, which was founded on Christian principles led by godly men, now caters to Islamists and Islam while growing increasingly more hostile to Christians. It is turning a blind eye on the genocide of Christians in the Middle East, Africa and the Far East, while embracing the radical Islamists of the Muslim Brotherhood here and abroad.

This administration has vilified and ostracized our greatest ally and the only Democracy in the Middle East, Israel, while embracing and emboldening the very groups (the PA and Hamas) who which to destroy Israel. This administration negotiates with Iran (the greatest sponsor of terrorism internationally) over its nuclear ambitions while ignoring the spread of its influence throughout the world as a result of its terror network.

We as True Christians, True followers of Christ, we who are Americans, though our “citizenship” is in Heaven, have a responsibility to call America (and the World) to repentance.

The Storm is coming, and our only hope is to Trust in Jesus as our Savior, Lord, Master, Light, Life, and King. We must keep God the Father ever before us through Prayer, Bible Study, and our daily Walk “In Christ.” We, like Christ, must learn to “rest in hope.” We must not fear what the world may do to us, but instead rely on the Holy Spirit of Jesus Christ to keep us, strengthen us, instruct us, embolden us, and sustain us as we serve Him. And we must serve Him, we must stand for Him.

While Christ has promised us we will be Raptured and not face the wrath of the Tribulation, we still can face a time of storm before that day. We are in a war for the souls of men, we are in a war of eternal significance, and we cannot fail if we do battle In Christ! Put on the whole armor of God (Ephesians 6:10-18) and Stand!

Transformed and Sanctified by the Word, Jesus Christ

The following excerpt is from “The Hour Has Come” by G. Ray Jordan. Published in 1948, this work of Jordan’s is an examination and commentary on Jesus Christ’s high priestly prayer in John 17. Again, it is as relevant for the believer today as when it was first written. As followers of Christ in these Last Days, we are living in a time of ever-expanding immorality, compromise, tolerance, and wickedness. It is increasingly more perilous for the Christian to live a separated life, however it is the Word of God which transformed us that will sanctify us.

“I have manifested Your name to the men whom You have given Me out of the world. They were Yours, You gave them to Me, and they have kept Your word. Now they have known that all things which You have given Me are from You. For I have given to them the words which You have given Me; and they have received them, and have known surely that I came forth from You; and they have believed that You sent Me. “I pray for them. I do not pray for the world but for those whom You have given Me, for they are Yours. And all Mine are Yours, and Yours are Mine, and I am glorified in them. Now I am no longer in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to You. Holy Father, keep through Your name those whom You have given Me, that they may be one as We are. While I was with them in the world, I kept them in Your name. Those whom You gave Me I have kept; and none of them is lost except the son of perdition, that the Scripture might be fulfilled. But now I come to You, and these things I speak in the world, that they may have My joy fulfilled in themselves. I have given them Your word; and the world has hated them because they are not of the world, just as I am not of the world. I do not pray that You should take them out of the world, but that You should keep them from the evil one. They are not of the world, just as I am not of the world. Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth. As You sent Me into the world, I also have sent them into the world. And for their sakes I sanctify Myself, that they also may be sanctified by the truth.” – John 17:6-19

Christ is thinking of a much nobler purpose and a far greater challenge when he insists those who are his devoted disciples cannot follow “the way of the world.” Here is something so spiritually superior it has to do with the divine difference. Jesus makes it quite plain when he declares that “the glory which thou gavest me I have given them.” These friends are to be one with him in spirit and purpose. They are not to be controlled by the social, moral, or ethical standards of society or of any merely human group. The spirit of heaven has touched them. These men are not perfect. But they have seen the stars, and never again can they be satisfied with things of the earth.

When the intimate friends of Jesus began to understand him, to love him and eagerly give themselves to him, something magnificent happened to them. Their faces were turned in a different direction; their hearts thrilled to a higher devotion. Their wills were given to a new objective; their desires were set toward a divine purpose. The customs of society never crushed them after that. They refuse to be slaves to the codes of any earthly kingdom. Their lives were literally transformed. Spiritually they were born again. Any description less vivid fails to tell the full story of what happened to them.

Saul of Tarsus was captivated by the strange Man who went to a cross rather than abandon his hopes and surrender his ideals for life. Saul could do nothing less than give him his heart. His mind, his will, and his emotions were all affected by the spirit of this man who had been crucified because he would not compromise. He saw the devotion Christ manifested as the hope of humanity. A new power came to him. He urged his comrades not to conform to the standards of those about them. They should never succumb to the sordid moral conditions of the cities in which they lived, nor conform to the low ethical ideas of the Mediterranean world.

But mere lack of conformity to popular customs is not sufficient. Christians are to be transformed. There to be changed by the spirit and power of God. This is a radical experience. Only God can bring it to pass. As we yield ourselves to him, we find a power greater than our own which works in and through us. Obviously this is a far cry from simply refusing to abide by certain social customs. Those who decide to become divinely different by offering their wills to the heavenly Father on the highway to real greatness, even to God-likeness.

Here’s a sweeping experience which affects all of life because it has to do with every possible personal and social adjustment. A Christian treats himself differently because he is transformed. He thinks of Christ’s way rather than the world’s for dealing with any situation which arises.

Words of Grace for Strength:

Transformation is change, an event, which for the Christian was accomplished by Christ’s finished work at Calvary. Transforming his life from one of sin and death, to one which has been redeemed and justified into holiness and life. A part of Transformation is the process of Sanctification. Sanctification is also change, initiated by Christ at Calvary, which is then followed through by the faith and actions of the believer in his desire for a growing, continual, obedient relationship with God. This is accomplished through the study and application of His Word to the believer’s life. Transformation is being placed in Christ, while Sanctification is the ongoing process of being separated or set apart in holiness to God so that the believer might become more Christ-like.

True disciples of Jesus Christ today can be identified by their desire for Transformation and Sanctification in much the same way as those who walked and talked with Jesus during His earthly ministry. It is all a function of will. Those who are true disciples of Jesus Christ have heeded the instruction of the Holy Spirit through the Word given to the Apostle Paul, as written in the book of Romans:

“I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.” – Romans 12:1&2

The true disciple of Jesus Christ no longer operates under his own will, but has placed his will subservient to the Will of God. Because of this the disciple is no longer operating under his own power, but is dependent upon, and operating through, the power of God (Philippians 3:10, Ephesians 6:10 & 11). The power is there for any disciple to tap into by turning to God in wholehearted faith and obedience. If we do not choose to seek out and use that power, it is our fault alone if our lives are more difficult than need be.

We are living in troublesome times, terrible times. This world is full of corruption, deceit, hate, avarice, and lawlessness. Because of compromise, tolerance, and inclusiveness, society in every country is breaking down due to a lack of principles, morals, and rule of law. Wickedness prevails in most of the world as it spirals out of control under the influence of the prince of the power of this world, Satan himself.

The true disciple of Jesus Christ recognizes this, and in obedience to the Will of God, takes up the “whole armor of God” (Ephesians 6:13) to be able to make a stand for Jesus Christ in these Last Days. The promise of victory for the true disciple of Jesus Christ is found in the passage above (John 17:6-19), and that our Savior not only has given us into the hand of His Father, but has asked His Father to protect us from the evil one (Satan) and to sanctify us through His Truth. Jesus identifies the Word as Truth. John 1:1-3 identifies Jesus as the Word. It follows then, that as disciples of Jesus Christ, we are sanctified by God through Jesus Christ. Make sure to note that in the prayer of John 17 Jesus asks that we be kept from the evil one, not necessarily taken out of the world when faced with evil. We are meant to fight for the cause of Christ, and our Lord made sure we are equipped to do battle, if we just take up the armor and tap into the power. As always the provision of the Lord is abundant beyond comprehension.

We are living in the Last Days, and as it is the Lord who appoints the times and seasons,we as disciples should be acutely aware of both the time and season. So, as we live in these Last Days, we must do so in the Will of God, by the power of God, and we should do so remembering the words of the Apostle Paul to Titus.

Titus 2:11-14 “For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age, looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself His own special people, zealous for good works.”

Sanctification, It Is Work!

In the series of articles entitled “Words of Grace for Strength” it is our practice to take an excerpt from an article, book, or sermon written sometime in the past, which in its message or teaching, is as relevant today as when it was first written or given. While undoubtedly the excerpt stands on its own, the goal is to confirm its relevance for today, and perhaps to embellish its importance and understanding to the reader so that he might be better able to apply the teaching to his life and personal growth in Christ Jesus.

The excerpt today is from “Things Which Become Sound Doctrine” written by J. Dwight Pentecost in 1965. The excerpt is from his teaching in the section on Sanctification.

God’s purpose for His child is that he should live in Jesus Christ. God desires to reproduce Himself in His children so that He might be glorified through His children. And when we present ourselves, or sanctify ourselves, or yield ourselves to the Spirit’s control, the Spirit will reproduce in us His own fruit, that we might live to the glory of God.

This practical holiness will manifest itself, as Peter tells us in 2 Peter 3:18, in our growth in grace and knowledge. Peter says: “… grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.” We often refer to this as progressive sanctification – where Christ, who formed in us by the Holy Spirit when we were born into God’s family, is being reproduced in us, more and more, by the Spirit’s control. In 2 Corinthians 3:18 Paul says, “… we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed (or, literally, are being changed) into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.” Paul emphasizes in that passage that there is a work of the Holy Spirit by which we are progressively being conformed in our daily experience to the Lord Jesus Christ. We are being changed into the same image, going from glory to glory. Our position before God is that we are sanctified, set apart unto God; our experience is that we are being sanctified in daily life, by the Spirit’s power, as we grow in grace and in the knowledge, and as we are controlled by the Spirit of God.

The child of God recognizes that no day is lived in practical righteousness and holiness. We stumble and fall, in thought, word, and deed. There is sin of omission, and sin of commission, and we stand convicted before a holy and righteous God. The Apostle John has given us a solution to this problem in 1 John 1:9: “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” Jesus Christ can be reproduced in the life of the child of God because the spirit of God can convict the child of God of his unholiness and can bring him to the place of confession so that sin might be forgiven and the believer might be restored, and that the Spirit might continue his work of reproducing Jesus Christ in the life of the child of God.

But is there no termination to the struggle? Must we always be subject to Satan’s snare? We recognize that as long as we’re in the flesh, we are living in an unredeemed body. We are living with an unredeemed sin-nature within us which may manifest its fruit unless we live by the Spirit’s power. But the word of God reveals a third precious truth concerning sanctification, and that is our ultimate sanctification. The apostle John so clearly presents this truth in 1 John 3:2: “Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when He shall appear, we shall be like Him; for we shall see Him as He is.” Observe carefully what John wrote. We will be like Christ in that we will be sinless, we will be deathless, and we will be brought to maturity in spiritual things. We will be like him. But when? When we’re old, and gray-haired? No! When He shall appear. It is the coming of Jesus Christ to gather His own to Himself that will bring us, God’s saints, to a realization of the position which is ours. At the coming of Christ – when the body of Christ is been completed, when the last redeemed one has been brought into God’s family – we will be translated out of this sphere of sin and into His glory, and we shall be like Him then our experience will confirm to our position throughout the unending ages of eternity.

Words of Grace for Strength:

When an individual makes the conscious decision, that they  are standing condemned before God because of their sin nature, needing to accept and acknowledge Jesus Christ as redeemer and Lord, they become justified in God’s sight. This is the first position of the redeemed in the eyes of God. Justification. In other words, because Jesus Christ’s finished work at the cross (His death, burial, and resurrection) offers to everyone who accepts the payment of sin debt; the redeemed individual no longer stands in judgment before God. And so, everyone who accepts the free gift of Salvation, offered through the shed blood of Jesus Christ, experiences Redemption, and Justification.

However, even though we are justified through Jesus Christ, we still possess our old sin nature. We may not necessarily want to sin, but it is still our nature to do so. This is the reason we need Sanctification. What is Sanctification? It is Holiness, the act and process of being set apart unto God by obtaining the righteousness of Jesus Christ. Positionally we were Justified and Sanctified in Jesus Christ when we accepted Christ as our Lord and Savior. But because of our sin nature we find ourselves continually falling short of the Holiness we were first placed in. However, by continually communicating with God through prayer, confessing our sin, and diligently studying His Word, we can continue the process of Sanctification.

Sanctification is not an event, it is an act bestowed upon the believer by Jesus Christ, and is a process in which the believer should be constantly involved in order to become more like Jesus Christ. What this means for us is that throughout our lifetime as Christians we continually need to be growing in Jesus Christ, growing both more Christ-like and more Holy. If we are not persistently pursuing Sanctification our Christianity does not simply go dormant, rather we begin to fall farther and farther away from God because we are not in an active relationship with Him. Sanctification is a hard and continuing work, but it is certainly work which we can do in Jesus Christ for our benefit and His good pleasure. When we are properly following Jesus Christ, not only will we be becoming more like Jesus Christ, we will have the proper attitude and desire to serve Him among men.

The last paragraph of Dr. Pentecost’s teaching above tells us that our Sanctification process will come to an end when we see Jesus. 1 John 3:2: “Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when He shall appear, we shall be like Him; for we shall see Him as He is.” It is never a function of our life, the span of our lives or the amount of effort or obedience to the Lord that decides when we see Him. It has nothing to do with our times nor our timing. It is all about Him, and the timing established in our Lord’s will as to when each of us is called home individually, or the Father tells the Son to step out onto the clouds and call to His Church, to His Bride, “Come Up!”

I don’t know about y’all but I’m ready for that day. So let’s work our sanctification till Jesus comes and work it fervently…because Jesus is coming soon!

Armageddon: A Global Goal

Before the battle of Armageddon can take place three things must happen:

1) World leaders must divide the land of Israel and scatter the Jews (Joel 3:2).
2) The Antichrist must confirm a covenant for seven years of peace in the Middle East (Dan. 9:27) .
3) There must be a world government (Dan. 7:23; Rev.13:7).

Concerning the division of the land of Israel, in early Nov. 2014, the new EU Foreign Affairs Chief, Federica Mogherini, traveled to Israel where she insisted on the urgent need to divide the land of Israel. She traveled on down into Gaza and said, “This [a Palestinian state] is the ultimate goal and this is the position of all of the European Union.” She even called it a “global” objective.

Her remarks reminded me of something Pres. Obama said at the UN on Sept. 23, 2012. He was talking about dividing the land of Israel and he said, “The Palestinian people deserve a state of their own…The question isn’t the goal that we seek — the question is how do we reach that goal?”

If dividing the land of Israel is a “global” goal (and a goal of the EU and the U.S.) then the battle of Armageddon is a global goal. This is true because God said, “I will also gather all nations [global], and will bring them down into the valley of Jehoshaphat [for the battle of Armageddon], and will plead with them there for my people and for my heritage Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations, and parted my land” (Joel 3:2).

Rather than looking at this issue through the certainty of God’s Word and His determination to fulfill every jot and tittle of it, world leaders are foolishly trying to appease the unceasing Islamic hatred of Israel. If these world leaders don’t back off, and the Bible indicates that they won’t, the world is on a guaranteed path to the battle of Armageddon.

Concerning a covenant for seven years of peace in the Middle East, the UN, EU, U.S. and others continue to try to force Israel to sign a peace treaty. To be honest about it, I expect more war before there is a peace treaty. But the Preamble to the Charter of the United Nations calls for the UN to maintain peace and international security (this could also be translated peace and international safety); and world leaders simply refuse to give up on the idea of a peace treaty.

Years of failed negotiations have caused some to grow weary of the process. Some are ready to try to force a treaty on Israel and the PA whether they are willing to agree to it or not. A treaty that is forced on people against their wishes will not guarantee peace and safety.

Concerning the existence of a world government, three world leaders recently talked about this in the same week.

Germany’s Finance Minister, Wolfgang Schauble, called for global governance (world government), global taxes, global standards, rulers, governments and dictators with global tax collecting responsibilities and a digital system to track all of this. His idea of world government clearly fits the kind of money-tracking world government the Bible says the Antichrist will establish.

America’s Secretary of Defense, Chuck Hagel, said, “We are seeing a new world order . . . . being built. There are many questions, foremost among the American people: What’s the role of America in this new world that is evolving? Should we have a role? What is appropriate?” This shows a glaring ignorance of Bible prophecy. The evolving world government will be Satanic and there shouldn’t be any doubt about America’s role.

Russia’s President, Vladimir Putin urged the international community to establish a new world order to prevent future conflicts (to establish peace and safety). This is another statement that shows ignorance of Bible prophecy. The Antichrist will rise to power promising to prevent future conflicts, but he will go forth conquering and to conquer.

So the globalists have their goals (divide Israel, peace and safety, world government, etc.), but no matter how powerful they are, they are no match for God. He has His goals and they will find this out when they see Jesus coming to the Valley of Jehoshaphat to rescue Israel.

Stewards of Grace

I tell you, with a grieving heart, that there are right now in this nation laymen, ministers and ministries that have been given up by God. These are those who have been deceived by lying spirits, having been warned time and again by the Holy Spirit and by prophets of God to repent and humble themselves. They became engrossed with self: they started to fornicate with wood and stones, becoming builders of temples and memorials to self-achievement; and they rejected a life of brokenness and humility. They forsook the prayer closet for their interests and the works of their own hands! They recklessly squandered God’s money, God’s faith, God’s time and God’s power.

From across this nation I hear from praying, sanctified people the same thing I hear from my heavenly Father. Those who are walking with God, living in the Spirit, instinctively sense that God has discovered and that He deplores all the abominations in the church, in the pulpit, in preachers and in some popular ministries.

Not all are corrupt, thank God! There is a growing remnant of repentant saints and ministries who have returned to righteousness and prayer. But the true body of Christ must pray for divine wisdom to discern those who have been stripped of spiritual authority and unction. Growing numbers of praying Christians now share the very grief of God against all the compromise and mixture with the world, and their hearts cry out that God will deal with it soon. I believe beyond a shadow of a doubt He is about to do just that! If God can bring Babylon down in one hour, He can certainly clean up the mess in His temple in a moment.

Most of the modern stewards who have been stripped by God of all spiritual usefulness are not as wise as the unjust steward – they don’t know it’s all over. They are not aware they have been stripped of their stewardship. But you can tell it is all over by the man-centered plans and schemes they introduce. The Lord’s interests are no longer paramount; the only thing important to them now is their next project. They finish one man-centered project, only to launch another, more spectacular than the other.

My heart cries out, “Oh, my blessed Savior, when will God’s people wake up and begin to discern that all this mad spending, building and worldly mindedness represents a squandering spree by Christians and ministries that have been stripped by the Holy Ghost and who are about to be called into account? When will God’s people quit supporting such foolishness? When will the true body of Christ wake up and cry out against it and say, ‘Enough!’?”

Are there no prophets of God left in the land? Are there no pastors left with enough Holy Ghost discernment and spiritual authority to wake up this people to the dangerous waste of our Lord’s resources? Sad, but true, some of the best-known national ministries today are beyond hearing God’s true Word. I am not their judge, but by their actions it is apparent some are beyond reproof, blinded by their own counselors, blinded by ambition, blinded by the gods of success and power.

Excerpted from David Wilkerson’s message on Stewardship from Luke 16; “A Cheap Cut-rate Gospel”

Words of Grace for Strength

Worldly pleasures and worldly attitudes have become pervasive in the “church” and too many “Christians” are more concerned with personal wealth and riches than growing in grace, and in the knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ. This false word of faith prosperity gospel is led by self-centered men and women who seek personal wealth and personal glory, and through their false teaching the “church” has become enamored with programs, performances and prosperity and not discipleship, spiritual discipline and dedication to the Word.

We are living in the times prophesied by the Apostles Paul and Peter (2 Timothy 3:1-7, 2 Peter 2:1-3) wherein man’s base desires will cause him to turn in sin away from what is godly and good. When man worships self and wealth and not God. The scripture is clear on the end of these who turn their back on a Holy God.

Why is it that these false teachers or fallen teachers cannot see the error in the path they have chosen to walk? They have allowed the enemy, the  present power of this world to blind them by either their greed for power and riches or by their self-absorption. It is not hard to stay on the right path when one is focused on Christ as the center of life. It is impossible to do so when He is not that central core focus of life. We can be blinded by the powers of this present world or we can eagerly pursue personal gratification. Either way, the fall astray into the false word is the same. And the solution, a refocus with a Christ-centered life, is the same as well. Trying anything else just leads to a deeper and farther fall.

The rapture of the True Church is imminent and we need to be sharing the love of Christ and His saving Grace with anyone and everyone who will listen. Friends, it is not too late to turn away from these false teachers and prosperity preachers and embrace the true doctrine of grace. We have a God-given responsibility as Ministers of the Gospel to speak the truth in love as good stewards of the message of Jesus Christ.

But the end of all things is at hand; therefore be serious and watchful in your prayers. And above all things have fervent love for one another, for “LOVE WILL COVER A MULTITUDE OF SINS.” Be hospitable to one another without grumbling. As each one has received a gift, minister it to one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God. If anyone speaks, let him speak as the oracles of God. If anyone ministers, let him do it as with the ability which God supplies, that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom belong the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen. (1 Peter 4:7-11)

The Rapture and the Glorious Appearing, Part 2

In our first part of this study we established that the Rapture of the Church and the Glorious Appearing or Second Coming are indeed two separate events. As we continue to look at this subject, in order to defuse any possibility of confusion we need to first understand the fact that the Bible is to be translated literally (here I refer you to our article Biblical Prophecy ~ Part 4 ~ Teachingposted on April 17, 2014). If we apply a systematic, analytical approach to interpret the Word of God literally, we will see that it makes perfect sense. The Holy Spirit did not deliver the Word of God to the writers of the Old and New Testaments in an ambiguous or allegorical way, God means what He says and says what He means. Therefore, as we examine the passages of Scripture delineating the Rapture and Second Coming we can discern the truths taught of the two events.

For instance, in the first part of this study we saw that in the Rapture Christ comes for His Church (1 Thessalonians 4:17) and at His Glorious Appearing or Second Coming He comes with His Church (Revelation 19:14). In other words at the Rapture we meet Jesus in the air (1 Thessalonians 4:17), and at the second coming, Jesus literally comes down to the earth setting His feet on the Mount of Olives (Zechariah 14:4, 9; Matthew 25:31-32). In the Rapture, the Church leaves the earth (1 Thessalonians 4:17) and at the Second Coming the Church comes back to the earth (Revelation 19:14).

The Rapture is the removal of the Church from the earth for deliverance (1 Thessalonians 4:13-17, 1 Thessalonians 5:9) whereas the Second Coming involves the removal of unbelievers in an act of judgment (Matthew 13:36-43; Matthew 13:47-51; Matthew 24:40-41).

The Rapture will happen in an instant and only those who are looking for Him will see Him (1 Corinthians 15:50-54; 1 John 3:2), yet the Second Coming will be visible to all the world (Matthew 24:29-30; Revelation 1:7).

There are no signs that precede the Rapture, it is imminent and could take place at any moment (Matthew 24:36; 1 Corinthians 15:50-54; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18; Titus 2:13) while there are many signs which precede the Second Coming (Matthew 24:15-30; 2 Thessalonians 2:4; Revelation 6:1-Revelation 19:10).

The Rapture of the Church precedes the time of Tribulation (1 Thessalonians 5:9; Revelation 3:10) and the Second Coming will be the culmination of the Tribulation (Revelation 19).

At the Rapture of the Church, Jesus gathers His Bride in preparation for the Marriage of the Lamb (Revelation 19:6-9) and at the Second Coming, Jesus establishes His Kingdom (Zechariah 14:3-4; Revelation 19:11-21).

After the Rapture of the Church the Antichrist will appear and go forth conquering (2 Thessalonians 2:8-9; Revelation 6:1-2) but at the Second Coming the Antichrist will be cast into the lake of fire (Revelation 19:20).

At the Rapture peace will be removed from the earth (Revelation 6:3-4), because the Holy Spirit is all that is restraining Satan at this time (2 Thessalonians 2:6-12), but peace will be restored to the earth at the Second Coming (Isaiah 9:6).

At the Rapture Satan’s activities on Earth increase (2 Thessalonians 2:9; Revelation 12:12; Revelation 13:2) but at the Second Coming Satan will be bound and cast into the Bottomless Pit (Revelation 20:1-3).

Clearly when we read the Scriptures in a literal way we find there are no contradictions or confusion regarding the Rapture and Second Coming (Glorious Appearing) of Jesus Christ. In each event the nature of Christ’s return is different. At the Rapture Jesus is the Bridegroom calling out His Bride, the Deliverer calling out His Church, while at the Second Coming He returns as conquering King to exact judgment, by pouring out the wrath of God on the wicked nations and peoples who rejected His free gift of grace. At the Second Coming, His Bride follows with Him as He establishes His Kingdom. So even though a comparison of 1 Thessalonians 4 and Revelation 19 display an emphasis on Jesus Christ, in truth they have nothing else in common.

The Rapture is the Blessed Hope of the Church, and the Second Coming is the Glorious Appearing of Jesus Christ as King of Kings, Lord of Lords as He establishes His Kingdom.

The Blessed Hope is imminent, Tribulation and the end of days is at hand, His Glorious Appearing will follow, for;

Jesus is Coming Soon!

Forced To Sin

Several years ago, someone sent me a video of a group of Muslims beheading a Christian. Looking back over my many years of life, I believe it was the most hellish thing I have ever seen. I couldn’t watch all of it and I have wished many times that I had never watched any of it. Some of the gruesome scenes have never left my mind. I strongly recommend that anyone who receives a video like that delete it immediately.

It was a Muslim attempt to terrorize Christians and force them to sin. Their devilish act is the same one that will be employed by the Antichrist against Tribulation Period believers. John said, “And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years” (Rev. 20:4).

Islam will be dealt with in the near future (Psa. 83; Ezek. 38-39) and the Antichrist will be dealt with at the second coming of Jesus (Rev. 19:20). The wicked will be removed from the earth (Matt. 13:36-43; 47-50) and those who are beheaded will live again (notice the last part of Rev. 20:4 above). They will reign with Jesus on earth for a thousand wonderful years; and peace, justice and righteousness will prevail (Isa. 9:6-7).

Anyway, the idea of a false religion and a satanic government trying to force believers to sin is what prompted this article. Many Christians believe every child is formed by God in the mother’s womb and to abort a child is to murder a child (Psa. 139:13-16; Jer. 1:5; Ex. 20:13). In our eyes, the U.S. government has not only legalized the murder of babies, the U.S. government is paying doctors and others (and forcing doctors and others) to commit those murders. And the U.S. government is forcing believers who oppose abortion to pay taxes to fund those murders under Obamacare.

But it is worse than that. For about 40 years, the U.S. has had a law that forbids the government to pay for abortions in other countries. Now, 21 members of the clergy and a group of abortion rights advocates have petitioned Pres. Obama to eliminate that law. It is not enough for them to force Christians to pay for the killing of babies in this country they want to force Christians (many oppose abortion) to pay for the killing of babies in other countries too. In some of those countries baby girls are killed just so the family can have a son. In this country a disproportionate number of blacks and Hispanics are killed.

These politically correct (not Biblically correct) members of the clergy probably think they are doing a good thing, but they are resisting the truth and have not submitted to the sovereignty of God (II Tim. 3:8). They may be religious, but they have not accepted Jesus as their Lord. They claim to love light, but they appear to love darkness (John 3:19-21). Whatever their motives God knows their hearts and they will be judged according to the Word of God (Rom. 2:16). Being a member of the clergy doesn’t grant them an exemption from sin. It gives them a greater responsibility to proclaim the truth and they are not doing that.

Taxing Christians to pay doctors and others to sin, and forcing Christian doctors and others to sin won’t end with just one law. In fact, there is already another provision in Obamacare that forces people who don’t believe in using contraceptives (Roman Catholics) to help pay for the contraceptives of others. As far as I know, Roman Catholics are not condemning others for using contraceptives they just don’t think they should be forced to purchase contraceptives for other people. That could have been left out of Obamacare or they could have received an exemption like Muslims do in some cases.

This practice of passing laws to force believers to sin is just getting started. It will continue until there is a law that forces believers to support world government or be beheaded. When that happens everyone will have to declare whose side they are on and the consequences will be eternal.
