Redeeming The Time In 2015

Our excerpt today in our Words of Grace for Strength series is from the message “Do You Know What Time It Is?” by Dr. Ray Pritchard

Dr. Pritchard writes:
Paul challenges his readers, “And do this, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep; for now our salvation is nearer than when we first believed.” (Romans 13:11 NKJV). Do you know what time it is? It’s time to wake up! Why? “Because our salvation is nearer than when we first believed.” That’s a reference to the Second Coming of Jesus Christ. Jesus is coming, and each day brings us closer to that great world-shattering event.

In light of that, Paul tells us to wake up, put off the deeds of darkness and put on the armor of light. The long night is fading away, the sun is peeking over the eastern horizon, and Jesus is coming soon!
Christian, do you know what time it is? It’s time to wake up and get dressed!

This is something we must know!

“And do this, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep; for now our salvation is nearer than when we first believed. The night is far spent, the day is at hand. Therefore let us cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armor of light” (Romans 13:11-12).

What “time” is Paul talking about in verse 11 and what “hour” does he mean? He means that this present age is sinful and dark and ultimately passing away (Galatians 1:4). It won’t last forever (1 John 2:17). Colossians 1:12-13 uses the image of darkness and light in many places to explain what happens when someone becomes a Christian. They are transferred from the kingdom of darkness into the kingdom of light. Do you know what being saved is like? It’s like living in the darkness for twenty or thirty or forty years and suddenly the lights come on.

What time is it right now? Check your watch and see. Now read verse 11 again and answer the question.
What time is it? It’s time to wake up. You sleep at night. You don’t sleep during the day. All of us understand what that means. It’s hard to sleep during the day. It doesn’t feel right. It’s not natural. Day is for waking and working; night is for sleeping and dreaming.

Why does Paul say that the long night is over and the day has come? Because the coming of the Lord is at hand. How near is it? Very near indeed. When Billy Graham preaches on the Second Coming, he often tells the story of a grandfather clock whose chimes rang every hour, once for one o’clock, twice for two o’clock, and so on. One night the clock malfunctioned, causing the chimes to ring thirteen times. A little boy heard it and raced through the house yelling “Get up, everyone get up! It’s later than it’s ever been.” How true that is. It’s later than it’s ever been, and we’re closer to the coming of Christ than ever before.

Words of Grace for Strength

In a few days we will enter into a new year. 2015 is nearly upon us and we will begin anew the process of counting down the 365 days of the year. What will this New Year hold for you? What will transpire in the world which will affect your life? As each year passes we grow closer to the time in which Jesus Christ will return for His Church, when the time of Tribulation will envelop the earth, and ultimately when Christ will return in power and great glory to defeat Satan and establish His Kingdom reign.

Knowing this, we are aware that the day in which we live is still very dark. Satan, as the ruler of this present world is still doing everything he can to exercise control over world events. It is his plan to subvert the cause of Christ, to marginalize the church by watering down its message and commitment, and to cause derision and persecution to fall on the True Church.

Yet even in this dark day we still have the light of the Gospel. When the Gospel light meets the darkness it destroys its hold and power over those who have experienced it. Ephesians 5:15&16 and Colossians 4:5 encourages us to redeem the time. As we enter into 2015 we should take this admonition of the Apostle Paul to heart. God has given us a mandate to serve Him in these Last Days and until His return, we should make every day in 2015 count for the cause of Christ.

I am not one who “makes” New Year’s “resolutions” but I do believe that as a member of the Body of Christ there are some things every believer should do to redeem the time. What are they? Let’s make a list:

1. Set aside daily a time to meet with the Lord in Bible Study and Prayer. Make it a personal habit to talk to the Lord and listen to the Lord.

2. Determine to live daily by biblical principles and sound doctrine.

3. Be involved in your local Church. Don’t just attend, commit to an active role and participate in all of the ministries and Bible Studies of your church. Don’t let “life” interfere with your commitment to your local church family.

4. Commit yourself to being a good steward of your time, resources and finances by giving to the Lord your tithe in every area. As Christians we should understand that absolutely everything we have is from Him and we owe Him everything.

5. Become a disciple. Find a more mature believer to disciple you and become an accountability partner to you. Then commit to becoming a disciple to a less mature believer. (Men to Men, and Women to Women)

6. Learn to trust the Lord in everything. He has promised to take care of you and provide everything you need. When it seems everyone or everything is against you, when your burdens seem to be too big for you to carry, trust in Him!

7. Set personal goals for ministry and service in your church family. Be ready to challenge yourself to stretch beyond your “comfort zone” as you follow His will for your life and the life of your church family. Make a plan to accomplish your goals!

8. Never fear your past whatever it held, let past failures be put under the blood of Christ and allow God to use your future. Determine every day to serve God and let Him establish your future.

9. Support your pastors and follow the leadership of the shepherds God has placed before your church family. These men have uniquely been chosen by God, and understand the gravity of the responsibility they have before God as leader servants in the local church. In his shepherd role your pastor will be held to a higher standard of accountability for the way he follows God and the way the members of the local church family follow his leadership as pastor – teacher.

10. Be excited that you are living in these times. As Christians we live in the most exciting time that this earth has experienced. The Signs of the Times are very clear and we can say with certainty that “our salvation is nearer than when we first believed.” The Rapture is imminent and Jesus is coming soon! Live every day believing that this could be the day.

Redeem the time in 2015! Let this be the year in your life that you walk closer to the Lord than ever before; let this be the year when you serve the Lord with all of your heart, mind, and soul; let this be the year when others can say without reservation that they see Christ in you.

Redeem the Time!

Reprobate Mind

In late November 2014, the Atlanta Business Chronicle ran a story about Atlanta’s Fire Chief Kelvin Cochran. Chief Cochran holds a bachelor’s degree in Organizational Management and a master’s degree in Industrial and Organizational Psychology. He has 27 years of experience in the Shreveport, LA Fire Department; was the city’s first African-American Fire Chief. Later he became the Fire Chief in the Atlanta Fire Department.

He then left his position to serve as Fire Administrator in the Obama Administration, worked with FEMA and the Dept. of Homeland Security; held several positions in community and professional organizations; and more. Chief Cochran has obviously proven himself to be an outstanding individual.
Chief Cochran accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior and became a member of the Galilee Baptist Church in Shreveport, LA at the age of five. He grew up poor, attended church, developed a strong faith, became a committed Christian and turned into an exceptional citizen and role model—especially in the black community. If more people were like Chief Cochran, America wouldn’t be having the violence it is having today.

Chief Cochran’s fame didn’t cause him to turn away from his faith or stop him from taking a strong position on Christian issues. He wrote a book in 2013 titled, Who Told You That You Are Naked (available at amazon.com), that verifies this. Simply put, he condemned homosexuality, marital infidelity and relationships with multiple sex partners.

His Christian teaching caused the gay community to go bonkers (slang for bananas, nuts, irrational, mentally disturbed, etc.). Some of those I grew up with would say it caused them to go buck wild or to be unrealistic. And some of those I worked with would say it caused them to act like they were about three digits short of a five digit zip code.

For example, it was reported that some in the gay community claimed that Chief Cochran wouldn’t put out fires at gay homes. Really! Are we to believe that when a house catches on fire in Atlanta the Fire Chief knows whether it is occupied by gays or not and based on that he decides whether the fire should be put out or not? Is this not irrational, buck wild or unrealistic?

Anyway, Chief Cochran was accused of undermining the public’s trust in him for writing that book, and he was suspended from his job for one month without pay. Some would probably ask, “What happened to his freedom of speech?”

Much could be said about that, but right now I want to recall what Paul said, “The time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine” (2 Tim. 4:2-3). The time will come when unsaved people will not tolerate true Bible teaching. If America hasn’t already reached that point, it is quickly reaching it because Christians are rapidly losing their freedom of speech.

Concerning the last days, Paul said, “men shall be . . . without natural affection” (2 Tim. 3:2-3). The fact that speaking the Word of God is off limits and rejected, that a godly man is persecuted for stating only what the Bible teaches and the fact that an unnatural lifestyle is boldly celebrated and treated as normal are all signs that the world is in the last days of the Church Age.

In one generation, the depraved have become more depraved and many are telling the true church that expressing God’s truth is unacceptable. These are signs that God will soon bring the Church Age to an end. If society doesn’t want Christians to give them the Word of God, He will soon remove the Christians and let them see what happens when His Word is universally rejected.

Paul also said, “And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient” (Rom. 1:28). Many of those without natural affection don’t want to know God, so He has given them over to what they do want.

That is to say, He has allowed them to be free from Him and to have a reprobate (worthless, corrupt or godless) state of mind. And there are consequences from that: Their lives without God and their faulty thinking have made them slaves to sin. They are free from God, but enslaved to sin.

Just think about it: The leaders of a major American city would rather suppress the truth and be lied to—than to hear the truth. If that isn’t reprobate thinking, what is? Let’s hope it doesn’t last long and that many gays come out of the kingdom of darkness into the kingdom of light before it is eternally too late.

Lovers of Darkness

My good friend, Dr. David R. Reagan, recently wrote an outstanding article titled, “How Did God Speak Through the Prophets.” He mentioned that the little known prophet, Micaiah, is one of his favorite prophets and he told the story about Micaiah, Ahab and Jehoshaphat (1 Kings 22:1-38).

What Dr. Reagan said is better than anything I can come up with, but his article left me with a thought that I want to try to expand on.

Syria had captured the large city of Ramoth-gilead from the Northern Kingdom called Israel and the wicked Israeli king Ahab wanted it back. He saw the opportunity to get it back when the godly king Jehoshaphat visited him from the Southern Kingdom called Judah.

While they were talking Ahab asked Jehoshaphat if he would join him in a war against Syria to retake it. In essence, Jehoshaphat said he would, but he wanted Ahab to seek the will of the Lord first.

Ahab called about 400 prophets in (false prophets or prophets who thought their job was to tell the king what he wanted to hear) and they said, “Go up; for the Lord shall deliver it into the hand of the king.”

This sounded a little suspicious to king Jehoshaphat so he asked king Ahab, “Is there not here a prophet of the Lord besides, that we might inquire of him?” Jehoshaphat wanted God’s opinion not man’s opinion. He wanted the truth whether he liked it or not.

King Ahab replied, “There is one man, Micaiah …but I hate him; for he doth not prophesy good concerning me, but evil.” King Jehoshaphat told king Ahab he shouldn’t say that and to satisfy the good king Jehoshaphat, Ahab sent for the prophet Micaiah.

While they were waiting for Micaiah to arrive, Ahab’s approximately 400 prophets assured him that the Lord would deliver Ramoth-gilead into his hands.

When Ahab’s servant reached Micaiah he told Micaiah what the other prophets said and urged him to “speak that which is good.” That is to say if you want to get along with the king, prophesy good things instead of bad things.

Micaiah’s response was, “As the Lord liveth, what the Lord saith unto me, that will I speak.” His prophecy would be what the Lord says whether it is positive or negative. Skipping down to the end of the story for the sake of getting to the point, Micaiah said to Ahab:

“I saw all Israel scattered upon the hills, as sheep that have not a shepherd.” He also told Ahab, “the Lord hath put a lying spirit in the mouth of all these thy prophets, and the Lord hath spoken evil concerning thee.”

Four things: 1) Israel would be defeated, 2) Ahab would die, 3) his prophets were lying to him, and 4) God’s judgment was coming instead of God’s blessing.

Micaiah was slapped in the face by one of Ahab’s prophets and he was cast into prison to receive nothing but bread and water until Ahab’s return from the battlefield. Nevertheless, Ahab listened to his lying prophets, Israel was defeated, he was killed and his body was buried in Samaria.

Many people are like Ahab because they don’t want to hear negative prophecy even if it comes from the Lord and even if it is true. And many preachers are like the prophet that slapped Micaiah in the face because they are not preaching the whole counsel of God and they resent those who are.

Paul told Timothy, “The time will come when they (most church members) will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears” (2 Tim. 4:3).

The time will come when many church members will not listen to everything that is in the Word of God. They will listen to a positive message, but they will not listen to a negative message. They will bring in preachers that say things that make them feel good, but they will not tolerate preachers that say things they don’t want to hear. They will love darkness more than the truth.

Has God Left America’s House of Prayer?

Greek experts say the English word “apostasy” means to withdraw, stand away from, fall away from, or depart from the faith. Bible prophecy experts say departing from the faith is a sign that the end of the Church Age has arrived. They base this on something Paul said:

“Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils” (1 Tim. 4:1).

Apostasy is as old as the church, but professing believers who teach heresies will be a major problem in the organized church when the Rapture is near.

In 1893, the U.S. Congress gave a charter to the Episcopal Church to build a cathedral in Washington, DC. That Cathedral quickly became the location of religious services of national significance. The funerals of several U.S. presidents, senators and congressmen have been held there.

That Cathedral also became known as America’s “National House of Prayer.” Monthly prayer meetings have been held there including prayer for our nation during WW II. Special prayer services have been held there including a prayer service for our nation following the 9/11/2001 terrorist attack on the United States.

On Nov. 14, 2014, a Muslim prayer service was held at America’s “National House of Prayer.” Many prayer carpets were spread in the sanctuary; hundreds of Muslims turned their back on the cross; hundreds bowed toward Mecca and said, “There is only one god, he begets not (doesn’t have a Son) and I bear witness that Muhammad is His only servant and Apostle” (Jesus is not God’s Servant and there are not Twelve Apostles).

Christians believe John was an apostle. He wrote five books of the Bible including these words:

“Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son” (1 Jn. 2:22).

The apostle John also said:

“Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God: And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world” (1 Jn. 4:2-3).

The Muslim denial that God has a Son is a lie and nothing less than the spirit of Antichrist in America’s “National House of Prayer.” It is a doctrine of the devil that was organized and promoted by church leaders who have departed from the faith. It is no wonder that the Episcopal Church has lost more than 40 percent of its members since the middle 1960s.

I have presented this as an example of a church falling away from the faith to the group of Bible prophecy lovers that I have the honor of meeting with each week. I wrote this article to share their responses with those who read this.

One very perceptive lady said, “This tells you the temperature of that church.” She was referring to the fact that Jesus told the church at Laodicea:

“I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot. So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth” (Rev. 3:15-16).

The church officials that put that service together are a perfect example of people who would say, “I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing” (Rev. 3:17); people who know not that they are wretched, miserable, poor, blind and naked; people who know not that they are spiritually poor; people who know not that their nakedness must be covered with the righteousness of God’s living Son; people who are blind to the fact that He is the only way to be saved and worshipping Allah condemns multitudes to hell.

One very perceptive man said, “It reminds me that President Obama said, ‘We (the people of the U.S.) are no longer a Christian nation.’”

He is right. America has fundamentally changed and clergy like those wretched, miserable leaders at the Episcopal Church in Washington, DC are a major contributing factor. Clergy that should be defending the faith have been seduced by evil spirits (1 Tim. 4:1). They call Jesus Lord, claim to preach in His name and claim to do many wonderful things like this odious event, but Jesus doesn’t know them (Matt.7:22-23).

Another very perceptive lady said, “It is obvious that before those church officials invited the Muslims to blaspheme God He had already left our National Cathedral.”

She is right. God will not share America’s “House of Prayer” with Allah. Here is fundamental change we can believe in: Either Allah goes or God goes and it is quite possible that God has already left. It is quite possible that future prayers in that defiled place will not be answered.

During the service a woman shouted out, “Leave our churches alone.” She was escorted out of the church shouting, “Why can’t you worship in your mosque?”

Church officials thought it was okay to allow Muslims to blaspheme Jehovah during that service in America’s “House of Prayer,” but it was not okay for a Christian to stand up for the faith at that time. Can those church officials honestly claim that they were sharing the gospel with their Muslim guests?

No one can deny that we should have order in the church and everything should be done for the glory of God. But worshipping Allah wasn’t done for the glory of God. And the problem wasn’t the woman who shouted out.

The problem was the religious church leaders who foolishly scheduled a service and allowed a Muslim imam to come into the church and say that “God has no son, that Jesus Christ cannot be his son, and there is no god like Allah.”

If those church leaders don’t condemn the heresy that occurred in that church, their hearts are not right with God and they are a part of the spirit of antichrist that prevailed there.

Oh, I know they said they were trying to promote tolerance among faiths. But that was only to appear godly and to try to justify their decision to ignore the Scriptures and compromise the faith. Paul spoke about this:

“This know also, that in the last days . . . . people will have a form of godliness” (2 Tim. 3:1-6). It is easy to understand why Jesus will spew out the lukewarm.

What god? Revive Us Again!

YOU don’t have to go to heathen lands today to find false gods. America is full of them. Whatever you make most of is your god. Whatever you love more than God is your idol. Many a man’s heart is like some Kafirs’ huts, so full of idols that there is hardly room to turn around. Rich and poor, learned and unlearned, all classes of men and women are guilty of this sin. “Their land also is full of idols; they worship the work of their own hands, that which their own fingers have made: And the mean man boweth down, and the great man humbleth himself: therefore forgive them not.” (Isaiah 2:8&9).

A man may make a god of himself, of a child, of a mother, of some precious gift that God has bestowed upon him. He may forget the Giver and let his heart go out in adoration toward the gift.

Many make a god of pleasure; that is what their hearts are set on. If some old Greek or Roman came to life again and saw man in a drunken debauch, would he believe that the worship of Bacchus had died out? If he saw the streets of our large cities filled with harlots, would he believe that the worship of Venus had ceased?

Others take fashion as their god. They give their time and thought to dress. They fear what others will think of them. Do not let us flatter ourselves that all idolaters are in heathen countries.

With many it is the god of money. We haven’t got through worshiping the golden calf yet. If a man will sell his principles for gold, isn’t he making it a god? If he trusts in his wealth to keep him from want and to supply his needs, are not riches his god? Many a man says, “Give me money, and I will give you heaven. What care I for all the glories and treasures of heaven? Give me treasures here! I don’t care for heaven! I want to be a successful businessman.”

How true are the words of Job: “If I have made gold my hope, or have said to the fine gold, Thou art my confidence; if I rejoiced because my wealth was great, and because mine hand had begotten much; if I beheld the sun when it shined, or the moon walking in brightness; and my heart hath been secretly enticed, or my mouth hath kissed my hand: this also were an iniquity to be punished by the judge: for I should have denied the God that is above” (Job 31: 24-28).

Excerpt from “The Ten Commandments” by Dwight L. Moody

Words of Grace for Strength

D. L. Moody’s message is more relevant today than even in the day it was written. How far has America turned from the God of creation! 85% of Americans claim to believe in god, but what god? Is it a god of their own making? Is it a god that allows them to feel good about themselves, or a god which brings them pleasure, or a god who makes them wealthy?

Is America’s god a god of politics, a god of wealth, a god of health, a god of sport, a god of race, a god of fashion, a god of feelings, a god of individuality, a god of entertainment, a god of good intentions? Is America’s god the god of Buddhism, the god of Hinduism, the god of Islam, the god of Pantheism, the god of Deism, the god of Atheism, the god of Satanism? Is America filled with all of these gods and perhaps even more?

I believe so, because when really questioned about what they believe, just 9% of the 85% affirm a belief in the Truth of Biblical Christianity. Believing that there is one God, Jehovah, who created man as a part of all creation, who sent His own Son, Jesus Christ, to pay the sin debt of all humanity at Calvary through His death, burial and resurrection. This same Jesus who ascended into heaven and even today sits at the right hand of His Father as our intercessor, who sent His Holy Spirit to indwell everyone who has accepted His free gift of Grace by acknowledging Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. This same Jesus, who someday (and we believe very soon) will return to earth in Power and Glory to establish His kingdom.

Once upon a time in America, the True God of the universe, very God of the Bible, was recognized and worshiped by a great majority of the people. But today He has been ignored and those who follow him are marginalized. America seems to have gotten so full of gods that it no longer has room for God. Yet He is still God! And, He still desires all men to turn to Him in worship and obedience.

Today in America, we who do follow Him should be continually on our knees in prayer for people to turn back to Him, the one True God, and we should be praying for a great revival of Biblical Christianity to sweep this nation. We should be on our knees repenting of our own lack of faithfulness and crying out to Jesus Christ to begin this revival in our own hearts and lives. We should be on our knees asking the Holy Spirit to create in our own hearts and minds a spirit of true love for others, so that we might be witnesses of God’s grace to everyone we meet. We should be fervent about this prayer, with a keen sense of urgency, because we know not if the Lord is ready to harden the hearts of those around us, to give them over, once and for all, to their lusts, passions and desires to chase after their false gods.

Today in America, and in the World, there has never been a greater need for man to turn from his own sinfulness to the Only Holy, Just, and One True God. The time is short, and getting shorter. Because at any moment, He could tell His Son to call His Church out of this world and begin to pour out His wrath in tribulation on all who have rejected Him, and soon, Jesus Christ will return in Power, Glory, and Judgment.

America needs Revival!

Lord Change Me!

“Nevertheless when he shall turn to the Lord, the veil shall be taken away. Now the Lord is that Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord” (2 Corinthians 3:12-18)

We spend far too much time praying, “God, change my circumstances…change my coworkers…change my family situation…change the conditions in my life…” Yet we seldom pray this most important prayer: “Change me, Lord. The real trouble isn’t my spouse, my sibling, my friend. I’m the one who stands in need of prayer.”

God orchestrates the steps and lives of all of his children. He doesn’t allow anything to happen to us merely by happenstance or fate. And that means he has allowed your crisis. What is he trying to tell you through it? He’s saying you need to change.
Like it or not, we’re all in the process of changing, in one way or another. In the spiritual realm, there is no such thing as mere existence; we’re continually being changed, either for good or for bad. We’re either becoming more like our Lord or more like the world — either growing in Christ or backsliding.

So, are you becoming more sweet-spirited, like Jesus? Are you looking soberly in the mirror each day and praying, “Lord, I want to conform to your image in every area of my life”? Or has your bitterness taken root, turning into rebellion and hardness of heart? Have you learned to shield yourself from the convicting word of God and the voice of his Spirit?

If this describes you, let me tell you plainly: You will never receive deliverance unless you change. Your life will only become more chaotic, and your situation will worsen. Stop building your case, pointing your finger, justifying yourself. God won’t meet you until you wake up and admit, “Nothing is going to change for me, unless I’m changed.”

Excerpted from the Message; “Change Me O’ Lord” by David Wilkerson 1999

Words of Grace for Strength

Many Christians have encountered problems in their walk with Christ and therefore their relationships with others because they have failed to understand the process of sanctification in their lives. When we accept Christ as our Savior we are justified before God through the blood of Christ at Calvary. But, the Christian’s journey has only just begun at the cross. Sanctification is an ongoing process of change which the believer in Christ must be continually working at as he strives to be more Christ-like.

Let us always remember the world we are called out of when we answered the call of our Lord. It is a world centered in self-absorption, self-gratification, and self-importance. In our sin nature, with which we struggle as we move through our sanctification, we are likely to find vestiges of this self-worth clinging to us still. It might seem at times quite natural to pray for the Lord to change others instead of ourselves. For as we are still coming to terms with who we are to be in Christ, that easy road will seem more appealing if one is not centered in Christ.

Too often, the new Christian is not properly discipled in sanctification. This causes almost immediate stagnation and often frustration for the new believer because they think all of their problems should have been put behind them when they turned to Christ. They believe everyone and everything around them should be changed, when the reality is they should be still crying out to God to change them.

It is the responsibility of every Christian to be a disciple and a discipler of others. As we grow in Christ we learn to say “Lord change ME” rather than “they need to change.” Only when we have yielded our will to God’s will and therefore experience the freedom of the process of sanctification and change, are we able to effectively disciple others into change.

The process of sanctification involves a daily structured Bible study, a disciplined prayer life, and submitting yourself in a relationship of discipleship with a more mature Christian (a Christian who, although more mature than you, should also be seeking and submitting in a relationship to a Christian who has walked the road to a point of more mature sanctification). These three elements of growing in a sanctified life should never change as we go through life, a process that continues until we are called home by Jesus. Realizing the day in which we live is chaotic and filled with trials for the follower of Christ, nevertheless we can and must grow and change more into His likeness every day to reach others with the Gospel.

Time is short! Lord Change Me!

Five Is Not Enough

The Bible teaches that ten kings (ten horns or ten leaders) will appear at the end of the age and then an eleventh, a little horn (a little king or a little leader), called the Antichrist will appear (Dan. 7:24; Rev. 17:12). Many outstanding prophecy teachers believe these ten kings will be ten leaders in a reunited Europe. But I disagree because the feet and toes on the statue in Nebuchadnezzar’s dream (Dan. 2:41-43) are feet and toes of iron plus clay (not iron by itself). I believe the clay represents nations other than a re-united Europe.

So it is my opinion that the ten kings will be ten rulers over ten groups of nations in the world not ten rulers over ten divisions in a re-united Europe. Put another way, I believe the most powerful of the ten kings will be the king from the Old Roman Empire (iron) and the other nine kings will be rulers over non-Roman Empire groups of nations (clay). I believe the ten kings will rule over a world government (iron plus clay) not just a reunited Europe (iron).

It seems significant to me that the UN Charter calls for the establishment of a world government with administrative regions. It doesn’t say how many regions the UN wants in its desired world government, but based on the Bible I believe that the world will wind-up with ten regions and each region will have its own leader (or king) for a total of ten leaders (or ten kings). After the ten kings appear, an eleventh king known as the Antichrist will appear. But the Rapture will be before that (II Thess. 2:6-8).

At this time, the UN Security Council has five permanent members with veto power, but most of the other nations don’t like that. They say that it is unfair to allow one nation on the UN Security Council to veto resolutions that have been passed in the UN General Assembly by a hundred or more other nations. They say that it is unfair to allow one nation (the U.S.) to block General Assembly resolutions against Israel or to allow one nation (Russia) to block General Assembly resolutions against Syria or Iran that have been passed by most of the world.

For years, some of these General Assembly nations have called for the UN Security Council to be restructured. But the five permanent members of the UN Security Council have always ignored their call and steadfastly refused to restructure and give up their veto power.

On Sept. 29, 2014 during the sixty-ninth Session of the UN General Assembly, Pres. Recep Tayyip Erdogan of Turkey addressed the issue and said, “The world is bigger than five.” Leaders from all over the world agreed with him and they called for the immediate restructuring of the UN Security Council. But there was more. They also called for the UN to create regions in the world and to have leaders to represent those regions.

I have no way of knowing what the five permanent members of the UN Security Council will do or when they will do it. They may continue to ignore the call of the General Assembly nations to expand the number of permanent members in the UN Security Council and to create regions with regional leaders, or they may stop ignoring them and finally come around and do what the General Assembly is asking them to do. But I will say that it is just my opinion that the UN Security Council will soon restructure into ten groups or regions of nations.

Globalists are already pushing for the creation of regional groups of nations in North Africa and South America patterned after the European Union. Russia and several other nations have already signed a document creating a group of nations called the Eurasian Economic Union. Brazil, India and others are already saying that their growing economic clout accompanied by the economic problems in Europe and Asia means that they should be given a greater voice in the world. And in July 2014, more than 130 nations signed a document called a “New World Order to Live By.”

So at some point I believe change will come to the UN. That change will be followed by the rise of the Antichrist. And his appearance will be preceded by the Rapture.
